Barbara Bush in 9/2005: Almost everyone I’ve talked to says, ‘We’re going to move to Houston.’ What I’m hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this, this is working very well for them. 🙄

Mrs. Bush and her brother, Scott Pierce, were actually in competition to see which one would outlast the other, a contest that Barbara Pierce Bush lost. Sadly, Scott Pierce (1930-2022) joined his parents, sisters, and brother in May 2022.

God bless her and them. Many of us know of family vigils being with our Mothers and Fathers until they passed. It hurts and it's hard but knowing there souls rest in the arms of Jesus makes it bearable.😞

So sad. My respect to a wonderful woman. She is with GOD now. May GOD comfort the family and heal the hurt in theirs hearts and our hearts. Such a generous and giving family that has served America much beyond outstanding.

Mrs. Bush's hair turned white after the death of her daughter, Robin from leukemia at 4 years old. Her husband, former president George H.W. Bush never noticed that her hair had turned white until she pointed it out to him several months later. Mrs. Bush suffered from depression after the death of her daughter (understandable) while her husband kept his distance. It was her young son, former president George W. Bush, who as a 7 year old, witnessed the pain his mother was going through and tried his best to life her spirits. Possibly becoming a co-dependent personality which may have led to his alcohol abuse in his younger years. No one leaves this world unscathed.
