One thing I’ve always loved about baseball is it has acted as a mirror to our country’s society for over 150 years. It is a part of telling the story of our progression from the evils embedded in our history and not act as if they don’t exist. The fact that negro league stats are added to the record books is long overdue and I’m happy to see it. My favorite sport. Go giants 🧡🖤

Harold Reynolds was one of my favorite players: always talked with fans, signed for fans. His announcing is some of the best too.

I have been a Brooklyn Dodger fan since age 4 in 1949. I chose the Brooklyn Dodgers because they contracted the first black MLB player, the iconic Jackie Robinson. My childhood civil libertarianism was totally from my 4 year old heart. I just knew ''breaking the color line'' was a great feat. I also knew that the great Robinson was just as important as the president of the USA. BTW, Jackie played for the Monarchs after his stint with the historical 761st Black Tankers. Salutes to the Negro Leagues of yesteryear.

Great to hear these stories from the old timers, despite the hardships they endured. It's about time they and all the other Negro League Players get the recognition they deserve!

Again - I have always said and many people who don’t look like me agree the entire MLB prior to integration should have an asterisk *️⃣ If you compete and don’t compete against the best players after it’s proven they are also good elite players how are you the king of anything ? That doesn’t mean you were bad you played in the rules that were written - but seriously - Willie may have had 730 or more …. Salute 🫡 to these US Citizens who were denied the right to simply play a sport they love…..
