They're always televised. The Democrats will have theirs too. It happens every 4 years to announce the Presidential Canadate for each party thru the Electorate. This is why The Electoral College is so important otherwise the smaller States wouldn't get a voice because the biggest ones would have all of the power basically. Though we have Democratic principles we are a Constitutional Republic. Hope I didn't come across over zealous but some people don't know that because they don't teach in schools anymore.
