i didn’t like the song on the first listen but no lie i’m totally obsessed with it now

I feel like I’m one of few people who actually liked the song at first💀 edit : holy fuck 1k likes damn 🥺 glad to know people have taste!!! stan itzy for a better future!

There was A LOT of mixed reactions to this. People either really love it or really hate it. Unfortunately I saw a lot of people hate it. When I first listened to it, I didn't like it and I found it really messy but after a couple listens, I actually really like it. It's easily one of my favorite songs of the year so far.

The first time I heard it I wasn't really a fan of it, but I loved the video. Then I ended up having the song stuck in my head and I gradually became a fan of the song lol. Now I can't stop listening to it and watching the live stages.

This song is not like the one you would like in the frist listen but the more you hear it the more you love it.

This song is very hit or miss. at first listen i LOVED it but it takes a couple of listens for alot of people. for me, it hit. it SLAPPED. but for a considerable amount of people it missed. it's very half and half but they were successful either way

"Girl crush" and "self-love" concepts are the zeitgeist of Gen Z so this is a perrrfect debut song

I think this debut is a rather different girl crush concept. From the maknae's lyrics being "I don't want to be mature" I feel like they're actually going for a more playful branch of the concept rather than the get-out-of-my-face type of thing, maybe more like a youth-rebellion kinda thing, hence why it's different and it feels quite fast paced and kind of messy.

I really like ITZY. Already off the bat, they have an identity and they feel unique. The only group I would say is similar is CLC. However their music videos are nothing alike. DALLA DALLA has a really top quality MV. Also loved the fact that the song is not like traditional bubblegum pop and yet I still found myself having it stuck in my head. The other track in this mini EP "WANT IT?" is also super interesting, it doesn't depart from the main track in identity but it is even less of a pop song and has a really cool and original vibe, I'm kinda shocked that a girl group did this song, I could totally see it in a male group instead. But they made it work. Can't wait for more from them, as a fellow TWICE fan I am here for ITZY as well now. Already knew Shin Ryujin from MIXNINE as well as from the BTS' Highlight Reels (and Yuna, the youngest member, was also in the BTS Highlight Reels) There's definitely a lot of eyes on them, I'm sure they will meet nothing but success. Really hope to see them back again at the very least by July

Dalla dalla was before it’s time like no joke. I can’t get this stuff out of my head now and if someone released this a few months ago it would have been super successful

There has actually been a lot of hate for the song. People saying it's messy and all over the place. But I personally really like it and I think it flows well enough.

I really liked the debut I think the "messy" nature of the song is actually a great way to interpret the concept of dalla dalla, by changing the song many times it really embodies the feeling they're aiming for, being different and owning it. It's refreshing in my opinion

The backbeat in this song is really steady (I use metronome to verify). The sections are divided well (in terms of count of 8). I am not wowed by the English rapping on top of Kia and the melodic bridge before the English rapping. But the various modes of verse and chorus are dance worth and full of attitude. Girls are charismatic and physically fit the sporty chic/GC concept. They are pretty and cute but not in a generic way. I think JYPE did a great job to regroup Itzy after Somi’s departure. Yuna may not be an original member but I have to say that she stole the show on stage with her confidence and winning smile.

It really was a love or hate debut. I'm not sold on them yet personally, but I'm excited to see future comebacks! I have a feeling I'll grow to love them a lot

The chorus to me really was the saving grace of the song, just because it's the only part that really stuck with me and makes me want to dance.

this is such a grower on my first listen of course it has bits JYP but now its a bop hella good song

The beat actually reminds me of twice signal but it's more heavier,electronic,compressed than typical twice style and the main melody motif also really twice influenced but again they put their owns twist which not too cutesy nor not to developed either but they still maintaining the youthful vibe in it. The song is a lil bit messy but they purposely made it like that,it's a marketing strategy. They set you up with this certain groove but then dissonance it and throws another type of groove which makes your brain confused. So the more you listen the more your brain can easily adapt to the actual what's the song structure is all about. Overall I will say it's a solid debut and this group is pretty promising.

Nice catch @ 6:11 on how you mentioned the parallels between the title "Dalla Dalla" (meaning 'It's different' in korean) and the music video with all the changing colours. I agree it's a very colourful mv and it's also quite neat given the message in the lyrics which has a theme that says that it's okay to be different no matter how you look and how other people view you. So it seems the colours are somewhat of a metaphor of being different. Overall quite pleased with the overlapping symmetry in the title, video and lyrics here. Regarding the point on JYP only making this album come with only one b-side along with the title track, I'm also kind of disappointed as well. As a fan I would want to get more musical content from the group (I mean who wouldn't?). But I think when you look at the context of the industry especially with girl groups it makes sense. As someone mentioned elsewhere the 'smaller size' of this album could be a sign that we may be getting a comeback sooner than we expected. And as a rookie group I believe it's important for the company to continue pumping out releases at least for their first year so that they become more established and more popular with the general public and shy away from vanishing into obscurity. It's especially important given that 2018 gave us a lot of good girl group rookie debuts and a lot of them will start to make their comebacks soon in 2019 creating a rather saturated market. From a consumer standpoint I don't think anyone would be pleased by the lack of discography but from a business standpoint it works well and it makes money. With that I'm also really excited for what else JYP has to bring this. Only thing that needs to happen is for the lack of discography to actually translate to more releases 🤞

To me this song is kinda a mix of SNSD 'I got a boy' and 2NE1 'I am the best.' It has an old school kpop vibe to it and I really love it for that.

Even i didn't like the song at first but I was impressed by the video production, because that's not something jyp would do. Its new and unique. Then gradually i started to love the song. I mean their message is good too!

Really love that they actual have a strong vocal chorus instead of it being empty or just a beat drop. jyp said their music is fusion groove but this song was a mix of edm, hiphop, and house. This was a debut anthem not debut song.

In my opinion, the girls are talented and I'm rooting for them. However, I don't think the song was a great choice for the group's debut. I've listened to it many times, and it still hasn't grown on me. I look forward to more stuff from this group though.

I understand people who were dissatisfied or disappointed with the song. I'm one of them. No matter how hard I tried the song I did not like unfortunately...I looked at their performance and I think the dance does not fit the song. This is just my vision. I'm not hooked on anything, there's so much mixed up in it that it stops me from listening to it. And this song doesn't remind me of the Old sound Of K-Pop songs either. On the contrary, it is a completely new sound. And I think it would be better used this song for their first comeback, not debut. In General, not my style of music. This song is messy. I get the concept they were going for, and it’s really cool, but the song wasn’t really pulled off as well as the music video was for me. There are ways to be musically different without being messy in terms of the styles and genres being pulled together. Idk I like the members a lot and I’ll be looking out for more music but this didn’t do it for me as such a highly anticipated debut.

I don't really like it, I know JYP had way better songs, but they just gave them this song. The Dalla Dalla part is the only memorizing thing and that's bad because it means the chorus which is suppose to hook you failed and I think it was more on the fact of those who sung it did not match vocally. Overall Itzy is trending and charting, but I can't help but feels it's because of the concept and JYP brand attached to them. I don't know for me they're like IZONE with a more meh debut song, I need to see more because in terms of looking like a group, I for some reason don't see it and see an arrangement of girls who got put together from the known female trainees pool *(and I know this sounds harsh, but I honestly felt lukewarm with the whole debut like I wasn't certain on anything maybe the concept, but that's not really a necessity)*

I've listened to this song a few times since its release but I still hate the "rap" parts and the "keep your head up just keep on dreaming" just is not it for me. I'm still going to check them out when they release more songs but this one...oof it's just..I don't know. The beginning was so cool and then it went downhill and then a bit downhill and then up and by the end I was so confused.

I first listened to it like as soon as it came out but I had just woken up so I had no idea what to think. Later when I was fully awake I watched again and then again and again. It’s incredibly eye catching for one but the song itself is also an ear worm. I liked it so much I bought the album thing as soon as it went out. Already I’ve listened to it around 20 times solely on my phone but with my KZfaq videos I’m honestly rounding around 200. Dalla Dalla is really good to me and the video production is top quality and they didn’t miss a single thing when doing it, in my opinion that is.
