No i Pan Paweł I personally like it. The 2020 has a jet fighter kinda of effect and the Honda off throttle sounds Amazing with its blown diffuser like sound. So I’m okay with these engines. And heck it’s been like 6 years so imagine how much better it will get. We can’t complain about what we have we because in 1 to 2 decades they will be either a V4(which isn’t bad) and if possible at that time a Electric engine (which I don’t think is bad either if done right)

I bet most people that hate those engines for their sound haven't even heard them from person. A friend of mine went to the German GP and told me that the engines sound so good and are actually pretty loud from person.

They are getting very close in power and lap times but while they sound pretty cool and futuristic they're far less inspiring than the bone shaking sound that the v10s and v12s made.

I've been at Spa last weekend. The Mercedes engines are by far the loudest ones on track. They reached a point now where it starts to hurt your ears again when they pass by. Especially under full throttle the Mercedes engines are much louder than all the others. Still not as loud as V8's, but Mercedes is on a good way. The quietest engine is the Renault, it's really not loud. Ferrari and Honda are on a similar level, louder than Renault but much quieter than Mercedes.

+asehauDLM Nice, I was at Canada I'm Canadian 😊 ... I noticed also, the Renault is very flat and the toro rosso too. Renault was pretty quiet in 2014 though, so I guess its not their specialty to be loud lol. The Mercedes sounds very throaty and I hope they all sound like that eventually.

These cars are absolutely amazing, they sound beautiful, I went to the 2018 USGP and let me tell you them things are STILL LOUD, granted the first time I ever went to a live race was in 2014 but this year they were really loud, especially under acceleration since they get to the higher revs faster

MendezPresents 2020/2021 (can't remember which) theyre increasing the rpm of the engines by 3000 rpm which may do exactly this

Great video 😊 They actually irritated my ears at Canada. They sound quite throaty, like they mean business now. Its a shame that some people will never respect them. Real fans haven't given up on this sport.

I love these engines, they have a note aggressive, low key tone rather than the V8/10 scream. Not saying I don’t like the older engines but these are still pretty good.

I dont understand all the hate about the V6 T i mean of course they are quieter than v10 but they got teir own nice sound and i was at spa and when they fly by its REALLY loud for your ears, almost at the point where it hurts your ears, especally in the corners the farting sound like a blown diffusor is amazing

Most people just hate because the collective hate. If the starters comments in the year of the change are more posite you never hear people complaning about these engine sound. This is a phenomen I can prove it by the "Alfa Romeo 155 v6 TI DTM" car engine. This car and the actual F1 car engine sound the pretty same thing. Exactly the same, to be honest. The only difference is the turbo, that muffle a bit the sound. And people says the 155 v6 DTM are one of the best sounding car on earth. At the same time they say the V6 F1 is the worst engine sound on earth. Get it?

It's not quite the same as the V10, but the V6t is still a good-sounding engine, at least listening to it from a spectator's point of view. Shame people will keep saying the engines are shit and simultaneously moaning over the 80s-era turbos even though they sound fairly similar. (V10s [ :D ] > V8s (before 2010) [ :D ] > V6s [ :) ] >>>>>>>>> V8s (post-2010) [ :( ])

1.30, 2.45 Still very nice engine sounds 👌 But does anybody know why the cars still make this strange noise when downshifting (eg. Mercedes at 1.29 or Ferrari at 2.45)? It sounds like the noise the F1 cars made back in 2011 with there blown diffusors... Blown diffusor isn't possible with todays exhaust I think, so it must be another reason :)

The thing about this engine is that the car is so fast and brutal and an engine sound need to be synced with the speed of the car. and those v6 turbo engine, sounds low, instead screaming to the sky . Because it sounds not screaming and the car is fast, it's just doesn't look and sound right unfortunately.

These engines have a normal engine and a electrical engine and if the electrical engine doesn't run anymore because there is no energie left the light blinks in order to warn following drivers that they are slowing down

The rear light flashes when the car is no longer deploying electrical energy to propel the car forward. This serves as a warning to drivers behind so they don't get caught out because when the car stops deploying electrical energy, the car will accelerate at a slower pace.

That's the light that indicates the engine de-rating, that means that although the driver is at full throttle the car will start slowing down to charge the batteries for the ERS systems. It is a safety thing for cars behind to know that although they might be nowhere near a brake zone the car ahead might slow down

+Oscar Thorpe Depends on the engine mode the car was in, the car charges the batteries under braking anyway, in qualifying they won't de-rate because they want full power all the time. In race mode they programme the car to de rate at certain parts of the track

Guilherme Silva at least not yet. Wouldn't surprise me if they make it so. Any footage captured on track as long as it is not from FOM cameras belongs to you. However footage captured showing details inside the garages even if it is amateur footage is strictly controlled.
