The Nordics, especially the Icelanders are a special breed that have an inner madness, while retaining an outer calm. I love their motor-sports, sometimes imitated, but never matched. Brilliant entertainment!

I love it when these Icelanders come here. Their buggies must be a lot lighter without all that roll cage steel the rock bouncers have. Power to weight is greatly increased.

I know those rock biuncers are bad to the freaking bone but these freaking things are just flat out awesome.

Never rode in anything with BIG power and paddle tires. But it's insane to watch them. I can't believe how well they hook up and the more chopped up and soft it gets the better they do. Go from all but a dead stop, burp it and they are rolling 30mph again instantly.

And so Tennessee became a flat field, right? I grew up watching Icelandic Offroad, later Formula Offroad and the drivers are flat out mental. Big kudos to any American trying to take them vikings on or being able to learn the names. Great videos!!!

I lived there in Iceland for two years I saw these guys going crazy climbing the volcanic rock, that is what they're island is formed of.

The power to weight ratio is insane in theses things way better for climbing then a bouncer.

Am curious about the motor in the Red/White Kapp car ... As much as I like the big engines sounds from the others that one is set up far different it seems .

Big difference in the setup of the Formula off road trucks. Weights is kept low, mostly in the axles and drivetrain. not as much roll cage weight. These things also have straight up drag racing style motors. they achieve much greater wheel speed on demand. Even the turbocharged "Cube" is making extreme wheel speed for its weight. you'll also notice the wheel travel is stiffer on the shocks keeping better contact with the ground. It would be interesting to see these go up against a rock bouncer where you actually have rocks and roots involved?? Definitely be fun too watch!!!!

I see now the evolution of speed metal and heavy metal is going to be motor metal is what it should be called for the sound of it but it'll actually be engine metal where you combine super charged engine with guitar and drums. "Power Metal"

...they use paddles primarily because of their home turf, you know lots of lava sand and pumice. Very abrasive stuff, but still a soft material at the same time. We know that our tracks require diverse traction enhancements are varied do to the different types of soil textures we have here in the States. I sure that most Rock Bouncer teams/drivers are in tune to the traction needs and tire types wherever they go. Watching the Icelandic Off Road series you kinda get one basic soil type. Think it would be interesting to see what the difference would be with their cars trying our tires, just sayin'. I love the fact though that both American and Icelandic drivers both love big LS motors, we're speaking the universal language here.
