Really small thing, the reason why cayde wasn’t careful when bringing his ghost out is because there are very few things that can kill a ghost. The bullet used to kill his ghost is either from or similar to the bullets fired by thorn, a gun made to kill guardians. We don’t worry about pulling out our ghost mid combat because there is basically no threats to doing so, hence cayde’s lack of fear.

The Forsaken campaign was better than previous D2 campaigns but yeah it was still pretty shit and basic. Cayde dies so we kill a bunch of fallen enemies that are at least unique and then a stupid ass meatball servitor for the final boss which was such a shitty boss. Uldren should’ve been the boss. The campaign barely has any real story, and most of the important details are in the lore. Like how Uldren gets taken, how Caydes ghost was killed, why Uldren hates Cayde. That’s shit that needed to be in the campaign and it wasn’t. For some reason Bungie thinks that they have to have the most basic ass CW tier writing in the campaign when literally everybody would find it cooler if they just embraced the lore and let the world breathe. The actual storyline of Forsaken is barely even in the campaign, most of it is in the lore cards. So while it was a great dlc for the content it added, I still laugh at people that call it a good story. The campaign was still dogshit, even if it finally had some boss variety. Destiny 2 players are just so used to extreme mediocrity that they thought it was actually great. Go play Halo reach, that’s what a good campaign is. It’s a good dlc, it added a lot of good stuff and the raid was fantastic, but it was still a bad campaign. The mission environments are still leagues above most of D2 missions but the actual driving narrative is pretty non existent (in game)

BUNGIE's seasonal model created a really unfortunate effect, because the chess game between Mara and Savathûn is one of the most compelling elements of Destiny's story, and for many people, the new final shape missions will be their first introduction to it since the rest isn't replayable. Mara had this grand elaborate plan for victory and Savathûn just swooped in and said "I see exactly what you're trying to do and how about no." Savathûn has taken so much from Mara to the point where she's actually had to develop because she finally met an enemy that she can't outsmart and to wage war against Savathûn can only lead to a pyrrhic victory because Savathûn is always willing to go to greater lengths to win, she trapped her own daughter in an endless cycal of being killed just to skrew with Mara.

Forsaken and Red War campaigns should return, let new players get a hang of the story instead of relying on KZfaq to learn the lore

About the intergalactic chess game, how would Mara know the guardians were even capable of killing Oryx, or that they would be willing. She might have know that they killed Crota in his Ascendant Plane, but only after the loss of vanguard unity, many fireteams and city unity. Oryx as far as I understand is much more powerful than Crota, and supported assumedly by other Hive Gods and the Darkness. These story only work backwards. I read the Lore cards back in 2015-17, they sure were cool when I was 14 and never wrote a essay in my life, but I have a this growing feeling that alot of this "Destiny lore is expertly written and amazing!" rhetoric is like an old wife's tale passed along by people never exposed to critical and amazing story telling. Also side edit. These kind of plan stories tend to go down terribly if not properly managed, and if not that simply feel very fan-fiction like. Cersei from Game of Thrones is a great example, she's a devious manipulator who due to her social status needs to use her wits to out smart and out think other people around her, but she is not a God simply because she is smart, she has emotional and strategic shortcomings that make her predictable with enough thought by others, which is further developed as she goes about out smarting others in clearly thought-out ways that can be plausibly countered by other characters. Whereas in the later seasons of GoT when the show runs out of books and becomes of low quality, you get the opposite. Cersei simply outwits others because she's cersei and her character trait is being ruthless and manipulative, and the consequences of her manipulations are never considered, because the writers, instead of asking themselves what would cersei do here to plausibly get herself out of this or that scenario, simply ask themselves what would be cool for cersei to do, or more simply, Cersei is devious therefore Cersei beats her enemies until another character with greater plot priority comes along and the same happens to her. Something making sense and something being explained are two different things.

Excellent video!!! 100% agree most of the best destiny story is unfortunately almost never put into the main campaigns. I also don’t know why they thought reserving the connecting story of major dlcs for background lore was a good idea. It makes almost all destiny’s story incoherent for the average player!

Yup I already know. I will still hold strong when I say that Destiny 1 not only was but IS leagues ahead of d2. Im so happy I finally quit the cycle of shit by deleting everything in this doulless garbage of a game. I have strong opinions on this franchise and on bungos retardation and scummyness. Even tho D1 is my favourite game and will prolly never cease to be so...I know in my heart that D1 is barely an 8/10 game... And thats D1, d2 is such a fucking rotten corpse that it doesnt deserve a score, but id say a 6/10 as the technical team has carried this game. I could talk for 300 hours about my 5000 hours in this franchise. I could talk about how deep its missed potential pierces my heart, or about how much it has changed my life for the better.
