I lived on fort huachuca and if your an E6 and below the housing isn't that great but if your an E7 and up its really good E7 to E8 housing is 2100 square feet and the master has a garden tub the kitchen counter is granite and the baths are faux marble.

Went through AIT there in 2017. From what I remember, you were allowed to travel up to 30 miles off post in gold phase (so we could go to Tombstone or Bisbee) and up to 100 miles in green phase (Tucson). I was in 309th though.

Thanks for the video, my late father was stationed at Ft. Huachuca in the early '70s after his 3 tours in Vietnam, I went to the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade there and have many good memories of Ft. Huachuca. He was in CEEIA which used to be a unit there.We lived in base housing at 143 Hall Circle. Me and my brther spent many hours in the desert exploring. Dad took us to Tombstone several times and hiking in the mountains of Ft Huachuca. My older sister went to high school in Sierra Vista. I spent most of time in the Army at Ft. Bragg NC, and Ft. Benning for training, except when we were deployed.Thanks for the trip back in time.

I was at FT Huachuca in the 1980’s. I was a 26Q. From this video, I see the base has changed. I lived off base in Sierra Vista. It is a awesome base and city to visit or be stationed there! I made friends there and enjoyed my time there. When I left, I was ordered to Germany. Keep Smiling!👍🇺🇸

@brittanyhenry64605 жыл бұрын
Three Hammers I’m literally headed to AIT as we speak. I’m at the airport rn. Basic isn’t bad if your in shape or getting in shape. So if your not in shape it will suck. So for those who are shipping to basic, start running now while your at home. I wasn’t running before enlisting and within the first week of basic I got stress fractures in my knee and leg (I still have them). I didn’t go to sick call until I was forced to in week 6 by my drill sergeant. Unfortunately my injury is so bad that I couldn’t finish the forge. They let me do all the activities but I fell out of the ruck on day 2 even though I met the mile requirement. I had to re-do it like a day before graduation and passed. I was in Charlie company 1-48. It was the more relaxed companies but none of us realized that until the end of white phase. The whole time we thought we had it so bad lol. The best part of basic for me was the people. The girls that I met there had similar personalities to my friends back home so I felt at home during basic. My favorite activity was probably all the time we spent at the range with our weapons and the repel tower. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR WEAPON AT THE RANGE!!! somebody did that and got the platoon smoked to oblivion smh. And my shark attack was different then the other companies. Everything went well until we went to sleep. They woke us up every hour on the hour yelling and banging on the bars of the bunks and smoked us every time. That was our shark attack. They asked if it was more effective than the traditional shark attack at the bus and all that. We told them yes because the people in my platoon love they sleep. So when they took our sleep we all pretty much freaked out. That’s all I got for now. Feel free to ask questions if you got any.

Ft wawhochicoochi, good times !!! If you're a 15W or 15E you're gonna be at 2-13th which is the company close to the clothing and sales. Last time I checked, alpha company still has a designated smoke pit for those who smoke. Expect drill sgts there, Uber or Lyft is your friend. They have different phase levels, ranging from 4 thru 5+. I heard they switched out the privileges since I left for the phases so I got nothing for that. If you're Active duty expect to wait to start class, National guard does get pushed in front of y'all. While I was there, there were some guys that had been there waiting for 6 months+, things might have changed idk. I can't stress PT enough, make sure you do that shit, we had a lot of ppl fail due to this on top of the classes being hard at times. PT is 0430, be 15 mins early. You don't want to be late, also don't think you can get away with not shaving. They check !!! They like handing Article 15s. Have fun bois !

Proster village or however you're supposed to say it the inside of the barracks, unless they were renovated since I left, were decent, like you said its ait you're not going to be living there for long, it was two to a room but you had to share a bathroom with the people next door. overall I enjoyed the time I spent there and miss the scenery and wish I could try my hand again in being a 15E.

Notwithstanding the idiots who think the Army has anything to do with 'James Bond', Fort Huachuca is the best post in the Army. It is an outdoor paradise for those who love the outdoors, and learning the Army's sneak-and-peek technology, means-and-methods :) You get there, you have a pass to explore the land and history which helped refine the Army into the unbeatable military it just happens to be!

Your main gate shoppette that you claim is so far from from prosser village is not true. The main gate being Van deman, backs up the AIT land, as we call it. The winrow shoppette is on the other side of the base. There are so many places here to discover, and it is great in it's own way. This place has it's own beauty.

@ Elijah Jucaban - I was stationed there at Fort Huachuca from July 1975 to August 1977. It was not a desolate, or bad place. especially If you like history, there is all sorts of history, and historic places to visit within a 5 minute, to 30 minute, to a 3 hour drive in all directions like Fort Huachuca itself,, the town of Tombstone, the old ruins of the many old wild western ghost towns in the Fort Huachuca area like Charleston etc., the Bisbee Copper Queen mine and all of its historical features, the Mexican City of Nogales, in Mexico itself Kit Peak National observatory, Colossal Cave, the Minuteman Missile silo, Old Tucson Movie Studio, Arizona Senora Desert Museum, Old Fort Apache, Old Fort Lowell in Tucson, Old Fort Bowie, the Pima Air Museum, The Marana Air Museum, the Davis Monthan Plane mothball fleet, the old historic Spanish Mission of Xavier Del Bac, all the camping areas upon post out in the mountains in Garden Canyon, and in the Dragoon mountains, the Catalina Mountains, and other mountains, just to name a few. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed being stationed there for those two years. My family and I also later moved back to and lived in Tucson for over 5 years as well. I'm so sorry if you are one of those people of which are so easily bored, out of your gourd, and must have all the creature comforts, conveniences, crowds, and other excitements of places like New York City, or Los Angeles to keep your interests up, and to keep you from not being bored to death. My family and I was never bored to death while we were there, as there was all sorts of things to go do, and to go see.

Great video! I loved being stationed at Huachuca (was actually dreading it when I got PCSd there). Lived in Sierra Vista, small town feel with everything a big city has to offer. Great hiking all around, Tucson is only a little over an hour away and has a good nightlife (Sierra Vista, not so much). Check out Sonoita, about 30 minutes west of Sierra Vista, quite a few wineries and gorgeous scenery!! Avoid Tucson/Phoenix May-August, its incredibly hot. Huachuca has great weather year round. .
