It's time to retire my Arai XD4 so I wanted to talk about my opinion on this helmet after almost 5 years with it. This is not a technical review and is only based on my experience and my opinion on this helmet.
Long story short I think this helmet raised the bar for me when it comes to motorcycle helmets. I will talk a bit in this video about why I won't be buying another one anytime soon though, watch the video to find out why...
Also a short side story about how I got stung by a bee today while riding through the wild flowers in Arizona. It's relatively entertaining 😂
Hope you enjoy this video, thanks for watching!
I mentioned the Transition face shields in this video, if you don't know what I mean I talked about it in this video: • What is MIPS (Review o...

I bought mine largely off the back of this. There are countless reviews from people who have only just unpacked their helmets, this perspective was invaluable. I'm very happy with mine.

Bought an arai profile helmet years ago. It died a blaze of glory in a head on collision with the asphalt due to a skateboarder needing to cross the street between cars. Awesome quiet helmet. Replaced with a gt air. The first day with the shoei I realized how much louder it was and the goal needing to be reshaped. The arai fit exactly. Now five years later, I am awaiting DHL to bring me my new xd4. I have been obsessing for the last few months.

Hi I just happened upon your channel as I was searching for the Arai. I so appreciate your approach and commentary about the lid. I got into dual sport a year and a half ago after a lifetime of racing motocross, desert and finally road racing. I have 'an Arai head' and it has saved my life on three track occasions. So hearing your experience really helped me, thank you. My Arai's have been comfortable and well made.

Went from Arai XD4 to Klim Krios because of the light weight and available transition lens. Just used it for one year and am now waiting on another Arai XD4 to be delivered sometime this week. There is no comparison. The XD4 for the win. Even without the transition lens.

I have an AGV AX-8 and thought it was good but after buying Arai, man has no comparison Arai is from another level. I already tried Nexx Xd-1 and Shoei Hornet but in my opinion Arai XD-4 is the best in the segment maybe many are not in agreement but it is my opinion. Price is the negative point but quality comes at a price. Thanks for sharing, ride safe.

I also have an XD3 for many years, great helmet at top price. Two years ago I bought the Scorpion ADX-1 system helmet, price/quality nothing that can beat this one, but like you say not the same quality as the Arai. So I recently bought the Nexx WED2, this is the one you really need to test, it's at the same quality level as the Arai but for almost half the price!

I had awesome experience going to buy my sons 250 Rally. After we finished the deal. We kept talking and hit it off. I told him what we were doing ( living on the bikes ) He went into his house and came out with 2 Aria XD4's- one slightly used and one brand new. He handed them to me and said... ride well. We are loving them! Thanks for the awesome vids man!

I 100% agree with you assessment that buying an Arai will ruin you to other helmets. That is exactly how I feel. Even when I was in a motorcycle shop trying on different helmets, the person working the helmet section warned me not to try on if I already knew it was out of my price range. He said that nothing would feel the same again. I should have listened! I love my Arais, but nothing has felt right since. Research the Arai if you are interested and get one that fits your head shape. Once I did that and found the Arai that fit me, nothing fit the same since.

Being claustrophobic to some degree, I love the extra face room this helmet provides when riding. I use mine on my Goldwing and won't go back. It's aerodynamic, comfy, and most importantly, I feel safe. Let's face it, no helmet provides crash protection beyond 32mph. It's about the road abrasion resistance after that point. I believe the Arai gives you a better chance in both cases. There's a reason most F1 drivers wear Arai helmets. As far as the price is concerned, it's about the same price of a mid-level Klim jacket these days. It's handmade in Japan by a relatively small company obsessed with quality. I'll pay more for that alone - I like supporting companies that care. Hard to find these days. Arai's are so good technically. Comfy to wear. Most importantly, they may keep you alive if this is your head shape. Not a small investment, but a smart one IMHO.

I've owned 2 Arai XD4. I took off the front bill and it's perfect for my 2016 Z1000 through canyons, fwys or just around town. I've gone 140mph with the XD4 no bill with no issues. Lightweight, comfortable. I have the yellow hi viz one now. I had a white/black that I wrecked on and insurance took it. I love this helmet. Going to buy a 3rd one soon. Currently use Shoei RF1200 (2 of them) or the XD4 that's about 4 years old.

I have the Arai XD4 and I have had it for more than 7 years. It's great! Oval shape fits my head much better than my old cheap HJC. The padding does hold up really well over time. I also love the brow for blocking sun. The only things I don't like about it: The face shield doesn't stay up very well. I've replaced the screws (which are plastic), added plastic washers, and none of it worked. I eventually added velcro to the brow, which hooks the visor and holds it up in the wind. It's also got poor air flow even with all of the scoops open on the top, they don't do anything at all. It needs bigger air holes. The strap has D-rings which work well, but they are hard to use with gloves on, I'd prefer a clip. The internal foam pieces can be taken out and washed, I do it often and they hold up well to that. The helmet has no reflector tape or graphics, i had to add that for night driving. I wish it had a modular flip up chin so I could drink from a water bottle. Even with all of that I do still love this helmet.

My XD4 is about 1 year old now. Maybe 15,000 miles. It's my second one. Used my first one for 6 years, it was rough but still OK but my BMW dealer pointed out that the foam was getting little hairline cracks so I tried several other loaners from friends....nothing worked so I forked out the cash. My wife and I average 15-20 K miles per year, on our 4 th GS, this one is a 2017 Adventure. Enjoy your videos!

Leaving the best fitting helmet for anything else makes no sense. You’re “investment” is not only in safety, but riding comfort. The heck with graphics. Buy a solid color, get some ADV decals, and call it a day.

If all helmets meet the same standard (which allows them to be sold) then safety is not a concern....because they all pass the same tests to receive the same mark
@drumsnbass
@drumsnbass 4 жыл бұрын
P Cat - not really. Look up what those safety tests are and you’ll be amazed. Think of it this way, they are minimum standards for minimal impact. Better helmets will have more engineering in them for impact & comfort. As an example I once took a bike for a test ride at a dealer, used a ‘demo’ helmet that ‘met the standards’. There is no way I would ever ride in that thing. If you gave me a new one I’d sell it immediately. It felt cheap, and fit like a plastic mop bucket. But... it met ‘standards’. Cars all have 4 wheels but there’s a huge difference between a used Yugo and a new Mercedes.

I have an AFX FX-39 dual sport helmet. It is a budget helmet, often sold for under $100 but I've been very happy with it. I flew over my handlebars once and landed squarely on top of my head on a boulder in a dry creek bed. The helmet absorbed all of the impact and it was remarkably painless. I think this model is out of production now but there are still a few in stores. A friend has an identical helmet which was of a different brand so it is apparently sold under various labels.

My favorite helmet is the Shoei Hornet X2 Dual Sport, $600. I use it for both street and dirt rides, have about 30,000 mi on it in last 3 yrs. I just recently got my second one for $500 plus tax. The Shoei DS is much quieter than a MX Helmet with goggles, has the best shield that will not rattle in any position at any speed, has a vented visor that works great too... Ride On!

For me my helmet is the most personal piece of equipment I have and comfort is key when I'm wearing it all day. I've owned Arai's because they fit my head, they are comfortable, the field of view is great, and they are fairly quiet. I totally understand the budget thing...but...you are going to be inside your helmet for how many hours over a year, two, three, or five years? You even said that the padding was still great after 5 years. Look around, I think you'll find a lower price. I decided to go with a solid color on my new XD4 (white) and it saved me a big chunk of change. Like you I'm in the southwest and the idea of a white helmet sort of made sense. Thank you for sharing your adventures and thoughts.

Arai XD4 (5yrs) and a Schuberth c3 modular (3.5yrs). I'm extremely happy. I plan on reconditioning my helmets with new paint and cushions. I could wear these forever. But I'm different I don't need the latest and greatest. I've always said take care of what you got as if your life depended upon it and you we always have it. If I had to up grade I would consider the schuberth modular adventure helmet, E1. I would then wear my other helmets (aria or c3) when I know there is a greater risk of falling. Good luck!

I got my first street bike helmet in March 2008, when I picked up my R1200GSA.The ARAI duel sport, with visor has proven good for me. May of 2018, we replaced our helmets, because of ridiculous replacement laws. I went with another ARAI, my wife has a peticular shape, went with the SHOEI, because ARAI did not make the same helmet she found most comfortable. Have fun, ride offroad

I had an Arai Signet-Q (full face) for about 3yrs, and loved that helmet....except for the shield change. It would take some fiddling with, and I would get so aggravated with it. Switched to a Shoei RF-1200 and haven't looked back. Honestly, either Arai or Shoei is a great choice. Both are high quality, hand made helmets.

I use a shoei neotec, it’s a modular. I have never tried an aria helmet. One of the reasons I chose the shoei is because the sena 10u integrates into this helmet so it is totally concealed. It’s also very comfortable and quiet. You might want to try to the Icon Airmada helmet, great value and comfort!👍

I have the XD-4 and I just bought replacement pads and shield (as well as a defogger strip for the new shield.) I started with a Bell street helmet, but got into adventure riding so succumbed to a) the BMW jacket and b) the adventure style helmet - thus the Arai. Like you, I have loved the helmet. The couple of things that I have seen is that my pads actually wore out pretty quickly (It's been four years since I bought it, but the pads have needed replacing for quite a while.) I also find that the shield doesn't lock properly - there's always a slight crack between the shield and the helmet structure. It was fine when I first bought it. I will confess that I took a pretty hard fall (actually concussed myself) on one of my trips along the Colorado BDR and have not replace the helmet. As you said, it's hard to pull the trigger on an $800 helmet (and I can afford it.)

As to the bee thing, I had a bee in my helmet as I was going over the Logan pass in Glacier Park Montana. I like you, wasn't sure what it was. It was crawling round in my beard. Stupidly, I used my tongue to investigate and he stung me. Luckily, I m not allergic and I didn't drive off the cliff. I've been using a 3/4 helmet for the past 10 years. I love the ventilation and the way you feel so connected to the environment. I think that I'm actually a better rider with this kind of helmet. I'm 65 now and I've changed some. I like quiet, and I like to listen to music when I ride. I now ride a new Africa Twin. I am very excited about this bike. The things you said about this helmet really caught my interest. You're right it is really expensive, but sometimes, like good whisky, it's worth it. I'm still shopping.

So far after 3k miles it seems like a good choice - comfortable, quiet, and well made. Was a bitch tryptophan get my Sena 50s on it. I found that going to a dark tinted face shield made all the difference in keeping the heat out of the helmet.

Tim , no bs ......i began motorcycling this past July at 53 ! My 1st ride on my new Versys 650 , 15 minutes in a yellow jacket got in through my visor. It was 97 degrees . I was riding with the visor up 2 clicks and a yellow jacket turns out is what got in. Stung directly over my right eyebrow. Thankfully, my good sense led me not to panic and lose control of bike. No one around, pulled over. etc.I get stung somewhat regularly as i landscape and i spend all of my days outside. Something that should be on everyones mind in case it happens. Deal w the sting and pull over safely.

another great down to earth video Tim. You are so right when you say to not "cheap out" on your helmet. My helmet is a Shoei and I love it. I feel much more secure than I do in a Bilt that I have that has more features. At the end of the day a good helmet is a life saver. I'm mostly a street rider but I'm planning on an adventure summer after this one all over the western U.S. When I embark on that trip I'll be purchasing an adventure bike and leaving my street bikes at home. One thing I'm starting to notice is that more and more street cruiser style riders are opting for full face instead of the brain buckets. I think that is a good thing. Keep up with the great vids. When I make the trip perhaps I'll get down to AZ and I buy you a cup of coffee. Take care and be safe.

I'm a bit of a helmet addict, and always had Arai's (though never an adventure helmet). Started out with a gloss black Arai Condor, then got a white/silver Arai Chaser, both full-face helmets. Recently bought a new bike, and got new gear as my old helmets were way past their shelf-life, and the first one I got was a black & white Arai Freeway Classic (open-face). I got knocked off my bike by a car on day four, and had to retire the helmet. That's when I kinda switched over to Shoei. I now have a modular Neotec II (Excursion TC-5), an NXR Ruts TC-6 (US: RF-1200), and a gloss black X-Spirit III (US: X-Fourteen). I've found I prefer full-face helmets over open-face or modulars. The Neotec is too heavy, and I'm not a fan of ratchet straps. The X-Spirit III is my new favorite. I recently also bought an Arai RX-7V (US: Corsair-X) because of the graphic design (2018 IoM TT), and while a great helmet, it's a lot noisier than the X-Spirit III, doesn't seal as well (I get a lot of airflow even with all vents closed), and waterboards me when the vents are open while I'm riding in the rain. It is, however, friggin' gorgeous, and extremely comfortable, but I have an Arai shaped head. I got dark smoke visors for all my full-face helmets (the Neotec has a dropdown internal visor), and all visors (both clear and dark smoke) have 120 or EVO pinlocks installed. I also always carry a pair of photochromatic sunglasses in case it's too dark to ride with a dark smoke visor, or when I want more airflow to the face. Haven't had a bee in my helmet yet, but did have wasps in there at least 4 times over the past year. Luckily I never got stung. They either got dazed from the impact to my face (ouch) and crawled out when I was stopped, or got caught between the comfort liner and chin curtain.

Currently I use a 3 year old AFX Rush and a Daytona scull cap depending on the weather. I find the AFX doesn’t ventilate well enough for me due to the fact I put out an excessive amount of body heat. For perspective it’s a 3 minute ride on the highway to my job. After Covid caused everything to shut down my work started taking our temperatures in our temples with a laser thermometer. Mine was 107° F according to the thermometer. I suspect my temperature was lower than my job was actually telling me I should be calling an ambulance with a temperature that high. 15 minutes later it was 98.4. Two days later I bought a scull cap because that’s all my local shop had in my size after everyone got their stimulus check

Great review Tim, I can totally understand. I bought a Shoei RF1200 2 years ago and today wore my old HJC modular and I had to stop at home and grab the Shoei for all the same reasons you mentioned. I definitely understand the feeling of being spoiled now. I fortunately do not ride off road with mine so I can get my use out of it I hope. Sometimes you can find a helmet with previous years graphics even 2 or 3 years dated for a considerable discount. Motorcycle Closeouts carries some of these discounted helmets but may not always get the color you want in the size you need. Thanks for the awesome video!

I am sorely tempted by the Arai but also agree with your desire for fresh gear, especially helmets. I start my new travel season with a fresh bucket every spring. It just puts the cherry on the sundae to start my first long tour of the year in a fresh helmet. The previous year's hat is still good for knocking about but by the time winter weather shuts my shield the old boot goes up on the trophy shelf and the new helmet becomes my daily. The last three years it's been the Sedici Systema. I use a modular because I wear glasses and the Systema is made of quality material, reasonably light and not too noisy.

I use XD4 too, but mine is pretty worn after just 12-13,000 miles, it is pretty bad outside, and the visor is pretty bad too, I gues I will be replacing helmets every 20,000km. It is my first helmet but I am extremely happy with the comfort, I was not expecting that, wearing a helmet 10hrs a day to be so comfortable (I tought it was impossible). One thing is 100%, I will never change the arai brand

I have the XD4 in silver. My next helmet will be another one (or an XD5 if they get there by the time i need one). even at the high price, my head is worth more. imho, one should never cheap out on safety gear. Between the massively improved comfort and additional safety offered by a better helmet the few hundred dollars difference become negligible. I mean 5 years... thats a little over 100 a year to keep your head safe, your ride comfortable and cool.

I bought my XD4 in 2011, back then it was the XD3 but essentially the identical helmet. It is the best off-road/Adventure helmet I have ever owned, and I have owned a few. Like you, its now due for retirement, however I am so reluctant to let it go because it is such a quality item, so comfortable and so proven! I tried replacing it with a Shark modular a few years ago but within a month I was back into the Arai! Might try the Scorpion EXO AT-960 next as I do like the modular design.....but, the Arai won't be going anywhere just in case!

I think you're right that the safety difference in helmets is minor as you get into the higher price ranges and you're paying more for luxury and features. I think the big thing to look out for (once you have met that safety threshold) is comfort and fit. I'm currently riding the Scorpion EXO-R420. It's a great helmet with SNELL rating at the $150 price point. But I have noticed that it's probably not the right head shape for me. So in addition to the measuring diameter to get the right size, the round/ intermediate oval / long oval shape really makes a difference. The scorpion is rated "Intermediate oval" but I get a bit of pressure on the forehead, so I guess my head is more of a long oval. Something to look for in my next lid. Also, being a fellow Phoenix rider, I like to have a white helmet and add the dark visor and stripe of black tape as per your recommendation. I'm sure you'll let us know what you settle on.

Same here. I have the R420 because of the safety features and Snell rating at the low price point. Downside is that it is the opposite of aerodynamic. Not a great freeway helmet. Much bobblehead effect.

I agree 100%, but will add one tip. Look at used helmets if you're in the market. I found my XD4 about an hour from my house on C-list for $250 and it had been worn for 3 short rides. The previous owner just didn't use it as much as he thought he would, and he even put the plastic coating thing back on the shield and back in the box after each use. It was super clean and new condition, and I am now spoiled to disliking lower quality helmets as well. Good luck in your hunt for a new one.

LS2 Metro V3 Rapid Hi-Vis Modular It is an OK helmet I think it has a lot of wind noise but I wanted a modular and did not want to spend a ton of money. Big plus I think it is very cool looking. It also has the built in drop down sun shield that I really wanted because I wear glasses and didn't want to always carry 2 pairs with me.

DOT standards are not that tough. The quality difference in a better helmet comes in far better constructed that protects your head. Finally, if you go solid color, you can find the XD-4 for as low as $450 at times. You pay a lot for graphics.

Hey Tim, First of all awesome videos you do. I'm following your channel since quite some time and I'm loving it. I was on the hunt for a new helmet because I destroyed my old one in an accident on gravel roads end of last year. I was lucky that I used a full face helmet otherwise I would not have any skin on my face left. When I was looking for a new helmet I was actually checking out the ARAI XD4 but I then settled with a Nexus XWild2 (~$ 575 US). It's DOT and ECE approved and I think that it would get even a SNEL rating if it would not have a retractable sun visor. Since no transition lenses are available for it - I would love it - the sun visor is a must for me. The peak of the Nexus is a little bit too weak to use it at highway speed since you hear quite some buffering but overall I really like it. Didn't get much riding up to now this year here in Chicagoland but this helmet is for sure much more silent than my old one and way more comfortable. Keep up the awesome work. Cheers

As an XD4 owner (in catch yellow) I concur with your opinion of it-except the cost. I demand quality products and don’t mind paying extra for them. My Shoei neotec2 excursion is also a great lid, especially with the integrated comm system. I find myself reaching for the arai more often tho-the lighter weight & added visor are why. The Shoei has features the XD4 doesn’t, hence the added weight. Thanks for putting out a great product Tim.

I ride a Harley and have always worn a half helmet or no helmet. I’ve sort of changed my philosophy lately and will be buying a full face to wear. My experience has been about the same. I have the exact same helmet (same graphics). I use the dark shield most of the time but it also works awesome with most sunglasses. I've had cheap gear and it's not worth saving the money. By a solid color or a closeout. These are available for less than $500 if you look around. I will either buy a white one for visibility or a graphic model since I wear it every day and need to love it for another 5+ years. Mine has over 75k miles on it and has been sweaty, dirty, stinky, done iron butt rides, etc. It is great everywhere. Is quieter than my previous Shoei street helmet yet flows so much more air. Visor doesn't catch air as you eluded too. Super comfortable. If this fits your head shape you just can't go wrong. A little easy to fog but that's really my only complaint. That and it's more tedious to change the visor than on something with a quick release. Seems like they may have addressed most of the fogging issue with the new laminated anti fog visors. I tried the PinLock but the setup sucks and it just doesn't work well on this visor shape. Arai will even admit that it's less than I deal. Was hoping to have an XD-5 available before I bought a new one but it looks like they will probably announce it's release the week after I buy a new one. ;)

Can agree on most parts. I have the Arai XD4 and Schuberth C3 Pro as my main helmets and the C3 Pro ruined me for any other helmet. The by far quietest helmet on the market (much quieter than the Arai) but in comparison also much warmer (Thailand is very hot). I still love the Arai with its great airflow and amazing visibility to bits but it got not much use anymore since I got the Schuberth C3 Pro. I can recommend both for different reasons. Living outside of the US with much higher speeds is one solid reason for sure, the Arai is getting really loud when you go fast.

@foodieontour 5 жыл бұрын
@@FTAAdventures In case you do look up a Schuberth for yourself... There is a newer version of the helmet, the C4 (and even a C4 pro in the making for 2020) but this one has a changed inner liner system, an (inferior) integrated Sena com system, as well as the shell (head) shape changed. All these changes are not welcomed by the community over here. The result is a helmet that does not convince us in Thailand and people still buying the older C3 Pro for the (subjective) better materials, fit and feel. There might be different versions between Asia and the West, as I know that there is for sure a special (not better) version for the US market. Just an FYI. Also to be clear, a modular helmet and an adventure helmet are not the same category and we still use them interchangeable - for touring and every day riding. Thailand is so different to Europe but might be close to your riding conditions, aside from the lack of speed and enforced regulations (and humidity maybe?).

I own the XD4 as we'll as several other brands and models (different tools...). Regarding the cost issue, keep checking the online prices. Arai announced new designs last week, which means the online retailers will soon start selling off the discontinued designs. Also, it is highly expected that there will be a full redesign of the XD4 and other models for the 2020 model year, because manufacturers prefer to wait for the new five-year Snell standard to go into effect rather than issue new 2015-standard designs, only to have to qualify again under the upcoming standard. Another thing to consider (although you would lose the peak) is that other Arai helmets are actually quieter than the XD4 (my Corsair X is way more quiet) and some are lower priced.

A helmet is the most important part of the whole equipment. If we can buy a bike for a five digit amount, we all should be able to get 6-800 bucks for the most important part of the body. I had (in Germany) Schuberth and Arai, and they saved me from being mad or looking across after light or (one time) a hard crash. God didn.t want to have me in his football team, and this old helmet in my garage tells me "Thank you for living on!!!" and having good rides on my bike further on. I thank all the technicians and constructors to create such fine products, and they are worth to pay for! That's my opinion, kind regards and thanks for your thoughts and experiences, Tim, Henry from Germany

Hey Tim, I have tried Shoei (Rf1000, rf1100, & Gt-air, and Schuberth C3. I always go back to shoei, they are the quietest and most comfortable. I am currently using the Neotec (modular) and I couldn't be happier. I love being able to flip up the helmet to get air on my face, get a drink from my camelbak, or even eat a snack without having to stop. When I retire this one, I will be going with the Neotec 2. Once you get used to a modular helmet, you won't go back. And Shoei has transition visors as well. Check them out.

Hi Tim, I've got the same helmet (different colour) and like you, I love (almost) everything about it. But I like a dark shield for daytime and clear for night, but that shield is a PITA to swap out. I have a transitions shield on my Shoei RF1200 and it's the bee's knees. They definitely need to make one for the Arai. Also, I like the peak at lower speeds but not at highway speeds, and taking it on and off is the same as swapping the shield, so...... again, major PITA.

I love my Nolan N104. Just a little too noisy in bad cross winds. The quietest helmet I have found for me, and my wife is the Scorpion EXO R420. This helmet has DOT, and Snell rating. They are surprisingly comfortable. Oval head shape. Have never had an issue with wind pushing it around. They are also light weight. The best part is that you can get them in the $150.00 range. They are better than a lot of more expensive helmets we have tried. My biggest thing with helmets is noise. I hate a noisy helmets. You can wear ear plugs, but then that cuts the sound clarity from head set. I also find that even the most comfortable ear plugs still hurt after a few hours.

The issue with transition lenses with a peak is that unless your shield is down all the time the sun would darken the unshaded parts of the visor and not the shaded ones, so you could very well end up with a visor that have holes in the shaded parts just because you rode with the visor up for a while.

Owned a lot of helmets through the years and have three now. The most recent is a Shoei Neotec 2, which I got during the winter for the upcoming season. But I do wish it had the protruding visor to shield the direct sun. Seems to fit pretty well and I like the bluetooth system (but really pricy for me). Hopefully, it is as comfortable after 600-700 miles as it is in the garage. By far, fit and head shape lead to comfort which is the main item, past certification. I had a helmet from Italy called a NAVA helmet in the 80's which was light, aerodynamic and a perfect fit for my head shape. No longer made that I can find. Enjoyed the review and all the comments. Like bellybuttons, everyone has an opinion. Hope to head to Tucson next week, then up to Page. (Trouble is, I have to cross west Texas to get to Pine Springs Campground. I have the exact helmet, even the same graphics. I've had it for five to six seasons. The price of a new one is crazy, so instead of buying a new one, I replaced the cheek pads and visor. Trying to get one more season from it. One thing that stands out is the peak and aero dynamics. I have a Shoei dual sport Hornet which is a good helmet, but the peak didn't block the sun and the helmet would lift in the wind. I had a sore neck after a season of use. I will be getting a new one next year and not sure what I will purchase, has to be a dual sport helmet.

But I didn't have any gear with me so I ran out and bought the cheapest helmet I could, an LS2 Strobe for €85, with the intention of just using it to get me home. 9 months later, my Caberg is still sitting on the shelf and the LS2 is my go-to helmet.
