Should take you 10 times to master this skill. Check out all my videos on this skill - to help you learn and understand the concept. Make sure your mirrors and Driver seat is properly adjusted for you. Hopefully your CDL instructor is giving you proper training.

Forward Offset Tracking: When pulling out of the Alley you must clear the front and rear cones. Leaving the alley, you will clearly see the rear cone in your left mirror. The Front cone you will see it and the HASH MARK Plus your rear trailer tires in your RIGHT mirror. Make sure your mirrors are properly adjusted! You see the the Cone; Hash Mark & your rear tires: Now you can start moving to the right making sure your rear tire goes in-between the Cone and the Hash Mark. When the rear tire is in-between the Cone & the Mark you can if needed move to the right and then to the left to get the Tractor Trail Straight. Not a hard test to pass. You must finish Straight - there is no FREE BACK-Ups. Review your CDL Drivers Manual.

Are you supposed to be looking at the big mirror or the small one on the right side(passenger side) when swinging back in to place your far right trailer tires on or in between the line and cone??

Will be adding more videos in the weeks ahead. Better training videos on the reverse offset back. Not there yet. Two more will be added this week, but still think a better training video is needed. Steve
