Held in October 2022, Forward Spaces was a three-day symposium organized by the High Line Network to inspire infrastructure reuse leaders working to build more equitable and vibrant public spaces. The symposium featured conversations on all development stages of reusing infrastructure as open space, with a focus on the role technology can play in creating inclusive open spaces.
Our cities are facing a reckoning-we’re challenging how our public spaces reflect our past. Who gets celebrated, and whose stories are told? This session’s keynote panelists explored a lively debate on how history should be honored through arts and culture, both the good and the bad.
