I wish I had instruction like this when I started lifting 26yrs ago, because what you say makes sense. Learning from gym rats was the opposite advice, and many injuries later I feel I couldve looked better, and feel better now lol

Awesome video Fouad! I notice you're using very moderate weights yet you're still huge. Do you think you could have built your mass lifting like this for higher reps? Even guys like Dexter benched 405 for reps back in the day then backed off. Guys like James seem to keep pushing the strength envelope, but a lot of pros seem to chill at 405 bench, 5 plates squatting, etc. Do you think there's a sweet spot where you can say "enough" and just focus on time under tension etc?
@FouadAbiad
@FouadAbiad 3 жыл бұрын
I think James is much stronger so he lifts what he can. I don’t think other pros just chill, I think 405lbs is usually a good max number for 8-10 reps for most pros. I have backed off because of injury but I don’t think I would be this big if I didn’t train heavy for a number of years.

what do you mean singles and doubles doesn't work? singles and doubles helps me increase my weight for hypertrophy sets.

Yes in a strength phase singles and doubles are important. In a hypertrophy phase singles and doubles are not optimal.

Foud, can less weight with more reps builds muscle? It would be great if you could pls do a video on muscle mechanism Thanks
@FouadAbiad
@FouadAbiad 3 жыл бұрын
It can but heavier weights with 8-10 reps can build optimal muscle.
@RNE1993
@RNE1993 3 жыл бұрын
Research strongly suggests that, so long as you’re training sufficiently close to failure, you can achieve optimal results by using as little as 40% of your 1RM, which could literally be sets of 25-30.
@FouadAbiad
@FouadAbiad 3 жыл бұрын
@@RNE1993 It depends what your optimal results are. Can you gain muscle that way, sure. Are you gonna plateau really quickly and be stuck at a certain size in muscle, yes. Do 40% of your 1rm will work for a beginner and only to a certain point. It will not continue to work over time. So again, it depends what your goals are and how quickly you want to achieve them.
