Remember the trucks that I saved out of a barn in Montana a few months back? Well, here's the 1980 GMC in all of her beauty ready for her next owner.
1980 GMC Truck C3500
Crew Cab Dually Sierra Classic Camper Special
Bring-A-Trailer Auction: bit.ly/DuallyBr...
Auction ends Wednesday, September 2 at 2:25pm CST
Color code 60 Santa Fe Tan, Camel Cloth Seats, Camel Trim, 1-family owned from new. Special ordered highly optioned truck from Desert GMC in Las Vegas Nevada. 21,445 actual miles, garage kept and meticulously maintained. Stored since 1997 original order invoice and build sheet. LE8 454, 4V, MM4-SM465 4 speed manual transmission, 4.10 gears, A/C, DF2 Camper Mirrors, JB8 HD Power Disc Brakes with J55HD Brake system, NL2 Auxiliary Gas Tank, Tilt, N41 HD steering, UY1 Camper Wiring, UO1 Roof Lamps, U16 Tachometer, V22 Chrome Grill, V42 Chrome Rear Step Bumper, Z53 gauge package. Please see original build sheet posted for other factory options. Notable expensive aftermarket options Gear vendors overdrive, cruise control and real Alcoa wheels. There is also a hidden 5th wheel hitch mounted in the center of the bed.
This truck was garage kept in Las Vegas from 1980-1988 it was then moved to Montana where it was stored in a dry, clean concrete floor Quonset hut with no windows. It was pulled from storage in late 96 received a new battery and oil change, 9/97 it received all 6 new tires and was placed back in storage. The truck was found and purchased in 2020 it was transported back to Dallas Texas where it received a major engine out service. The valves were sticky on both heads therefore we removed the engine had both heads professionally rebuilt by Wells Racing, new Milodon oil pump, push rods, lifters, full gasket set, new fuel pump, new clutch and pressure plate, rebuilt carburetor, two new Dorman fuel tanks, new sending units and all fluids changed. The engine is properly detailed, numbers matching and factory correct. A/C has been charged this truck runs and drives great.
Cosmetically excellent inside and out it has not been buffed or waxed only hand washed. This is a special ordered, highly optioned, 21,445 actual mile 1 family owned rust-free truck.
It would be cost prohibitive to duplicate this truck in restoration very correct with the exception of the 1987 steering wheel and a few aftermarket accessories. The correct steering wheel and an NOS horn button come with the truck
Great documentation with books and manuals.

@@RVD2448 He said that 1980 truck sodl for about $10,000 new. That's a little more than $30,000 adjusted for inflation. You can't touch a new truck for that. I also hate the way new trucks look, I hate most of the electronics on them, I hate how complicated they are, and I utterly hate that I can't get one with a manual transfer case anymore. If I'm going to spend thousands of dollars on something, it'd better be something I love and I don't love new trucks. I drive new trucks at work and my personal trucks have all been 80's and 90's with a couple 70's cars in there too. I'll take old and outdated any day.

Beautiful truck!!! I have a 1985 GMC Sierra Classic K3500 Regular Cab with 454 that I purchased from the original owner who kept a diary of everything he ever did to the truck with the date and mileage he did it on. He told me he had trouble ordering it with a 454. They wanted to order it with a 350. He persisted and got what he wanted. I bought in 2009 with 65,000 original miles. Best part is that it was a factory brown truck so I made it into a Fall Guy truck replica. I’ve been offered $40k. That’s insane, I bought for $5500.00. Anyway, love seeing trucks that have been taken care like that. Most trucks are used and scrapped.!!! Great Video!

That truck is a serious statement. Love it! The fact that's been sitting for that long and it still looks that great is testament to its build quality *and* the fact that it was kept in an environment and climate that has managed to protect it for that long is very satisfying to see. I get sad whenever I see a car left outside for years to rot, so seeing this still looking brand spanking new is simply marvellous 🙂👌.

@@chrisgonzalez1597 Yeah, I agree. I do wonder what the asking price for this would be, though. Such a fine specimen with all the original documentation still present must command a good price. I'm just not sure what it is. Dennis might have mentioned it, but I can't remember having heard it. If it's taken to an auction with no reserve, it will fetch the price of what someone is willing to pay for it and it *can* end in major disappointment. I just hope a crazy bidding war breaks out, because damn, this is one glorius time capsule on wheels and it deserves to go for a good price.

These were some of the most anemic underpowered work trucks ever built. In the early 80's basically EVERYTHING was underpowered, oversized and built with enough emissions garbage to choke a dinosaur! Even corvettes from this period are crap! And unfortunately quality control was poor at best. Trust me,that truck didn't look that good when new...door/fender gaps never lined up,chrome NEVER lined up...they put a lot of time in just aligning panels and chrome! Its cool, but NOT something you'd wanna drive today...better keep it as a "time capsule" thats all its good for

I used to have a truck exactly like that one back in the mid 80's. It would pull a house down! I used mine to pull a 40ft enclosed 5th wheel back and forth from South Florida, to North Georgia loaded to the max, overloaded most of the time, and it had no problems pulling it. The only problem it had was it loved gas so much that I had a 100gl tank installed in the bed to go along with the other 2 factory tanks. lol. I wanted to be able to drive straight through on my runs without having to stop for gas every 100 miles. lol. Pulling the loaded 40ft 5th wheel maxed out I was getting around 6 mpg.

I had a 1979, round headlight, C35, crew, dual, 454 4 bbl Q-Jet, THM-400, camper special, and the brake booster looked like the on in this tan truck, white with blue interior. The original owners had added an extra leaf on the main bundle and two extra on the overload and had enclosed the C channel from behind the cab to the upsweep for the rear suspension; they used it for a massive camper. It was very heavy duty. Empty, she rode like a buckboard; loaded, smoothed right out. We could put as much into bed as it could hold, be it wet logs, gravel, rock, you name it; she would squat hard on the overloads, but when one put her in gear, she would just idle her way along, never feeling like she was straining. 12 mpg empty was the best we ever got; 8-9 mpg bed loaded. The few times she had a trailer on her, she would just shrug it off. Great truck, and I wish I had the need again for this one.

I would SO LOVE to drive that truck!!! Too bad it will go for more than I would afford. A very nice truck and one that no one should ever be ashamed to get behind the wheel and drive it around town.

A nearly unheard of blooper. Must not have had your coffee yet, that hide a hitch is for a goose neck not a 5th wheel. The truck is awesome. Great find!!! I just blew my chance at some free merch right......

80 model also was a first to have the fuel door. I don't blame him for not wanting electric windows. Beautiful pickup. Standard is a plus.

Awesome truck, I wish it was mine. Not really, way too nice for me. I had a 1980 4x4 a long time ago with that grill. Due to a piece of bad judgement I learned that that particular truck (as well as mine) was a 1980 1/2. 1/2 year got square headlights. Not a common truck to find headlight and turn signal pieces for. Those of us who love those old trucks praise you for saving it.

Yea man, it’s crazy because in our era/generation these where throw away junk trucks what seems like just a few years ago to us (90s was 30 years ago lol). But our old high school junkers are becoming extremely valuable. Square body chevys, fords, and dodges are starting to go through the roof. They are no longer going down in value but rapidly going up. What was a $6,000 truck back in high school is now a $16,000 truck and going up. Especially rare optioned ones like this. If you have the money get one, ANYONE, now because these will be on the stage of Barrett Jackson next year just like they were the past 2 years!
