A spring with no name, no photos online and a location unknown to most in a location most will never get too... One of the most difficult treks I've made through wild Florida!

Maybe it's part spring and part tidepool. The underwater video looked like it was not conducive to plant growth. Maybe it slowly refills with freshwater until a very high tide or weather system pushes in saltwater. Also, that looked like a rough walk.

Got to remember to bring a Sawyer Squeeze on your adventures! I'm interested to learn about the geology of these marsh springs. I've found several on old USGS maps, one practically at the shoreline. I guess they're just such a small magnitude that decaying matter lays on top of them that they can't really boil?
@TripSmith
@TripSmith Жыл бұрын
Yea.... I don't know how it would have done with the salt water though as it was a bit salty. I think they would still boil if they had enough flow. One thing that happens is over time, flows underground change and some springs may not flow anymore in general.

@@TripSmith In my area they call them " velvet tailed" . The only one I ever actually seen was dead on side of road, over 5.5 ft long , about three or four buttons that would make zero sound . YIKES , I always heard they existed , I must have walked by dozens of them over the years , just be cautious in that grass, they are invisible in their element
