Those brown leather lace up thing are for hair braids. I would braid my hair Indian style and put those on the braids in the 1970s. I believe I bought them in Cherokee in the Smokey Mountains. I still have them and some of my granddaughters have used them in costume.

I don't remember us having charms on our shoes in the part of UK that I lived in but I can imagine the memories they would bring to mind. The plush blankets would go great in my bedroom and the dog was a gem. I like the different things in this unit Jeremy and can remember having a Levi skirt like the one you found (I was smaller then lol). Take care my friends and good luck, love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK

Those opal earrings are gold (you rarely "set" opal into cheap metal jewelry). Opal is quite difficult to mine and then shape, polish, etc. They are definitely worth the cost of the unit. NICE find =]. You found a standing loop but then didn't use it to look at the jewelry? I'm confused. It would greatly help you to set up a SMALL bag/pouch you carry with you to take a look at this stuff on the go or at the warehouse, where ever. Have a loop (buy one with a LIGHT built in), rare earth magnet, a small digital scale (you can use this for coins. Silver and gold coins will weigh different than clad. After a little bit, you'll know enough to ID 95% of what you find by sight and weight). I bought my 2nd unit a couple days ago... found an 1851 ball and cap pistol!!! and a 1931 typewriter! and even cash (40 bucks so far... tons more to go through). Thanks for the inspiration and guidance you provide while filming your purchases... it has helped greatly. You, Grimes and Wade are the only channels I subscribe to because you constantly give out GREAT information on the whole process. THANKS BUD! I'll be here for the next video =]

19:26 those leather pieces may be finger splints. They look similar to a wrist splint from 100 years ago I saw in a display somewhere. It's a wild guess, but given the width on them they may be. Also that Borders gift card is worthless since the company went out of business a while back.

Make sure you check the opals, there are some really good fakes out there. Just in case you didn't know the difference, gold-filled has a thicker layer of gold on it than gold plated does, so it will wear off a lot slower :) I make rings and pendants and solder all kinds of metals and i work with gold and silver filled all the time :) Oh, and use your new jewelers' loup to check for markings, it will make it much easier ;)
