I agree. They stood together to defeat pennywise and overcome their fear like they did last time. Quit honestly.... I feel like the movie was great.... everyone just wants to bash it too much for dumb reasons.

Fighting pennywise in the first movie is all very physical. The losers club willpower makes them very strong, but so are pennywise. Everything wraps-up with a very spectacular fight at the end. As a spectator I believe more in this scenario compared to chanting/bullies pennywise to he buckled within his own makeup, which feels a little cheap. Many people complain about the spider at the end of the miniseries, but this is way worse PS I agree with what he says about Richie, he grows on you in this one.

Although I would have preferred an ending where they banned together, finally getting over their fears and traumatic things of their past (i.e. Bev's sexual assault) to defeat Pennywise, which turns out to never be real. If they went the metaphorical route, the movie's ending wouldn't have felt so abrupt and it would give validity to the characters quest to find something connected to their fears in the previous part of the movie and the whole plot of the first movie. Though I don't think that would ever happen. Steven King writes so literally a lot of the time that we have to have a fucking turtle with a universe on its back and eater of worlds.
