#dashcam #endingexplained
This is a re-upload of yesterday's video, but with all the juicy gore censored. Hopefully this appeases the YT gods.
In Dashcam, we follow the misadventures of Annie, the host of a live show broadcast from her car. As she travels to England and causes more destruction, she is offered a strange delivery that turns things into a hole new horrifying direction. We're breaking down the story, including what Angela's deal is, as well as the parasite monster that pops up later, and explaining the ending.

I'm assuming the ending metaphor is that Annie is a bigger and more evolved parasite than the monster, which is why she's able to kill it. Also, she's a parasite b/c she has to feed off her followers' attention and the loyalty of her only friend to survive.

If you want her to die, you're likely narcissistic at the least, and sociopathic at the worst. Everyone is both of those things; it's when they're dialed up to 10 instead of a 4-5 that they become an issue, such as wishing death on others because they're annoying or you disagree with them, rather than simply finding them abrasive, disliking them, and not wanting to associate with them. It's one thing to not like someone; you can hate someone even, and still not want them to die. That's basic empathy. It's entirely different *wanting* them to die *because* you don't like them, and thinking your still morally/ethically "correct" even when confronted with this dilemma.

The funniest part about this movie is when you realize Annie Hardy wasn't acting but was playing herself with only a few exaggerated moments. She said in an interview that the character was 96% her and she actually does those rapping car cam live streams irl. The movie is based around her "Bandcar" as she calls it livestreams. It's like watching a horror movie only to find out that's it's true.

I think the “UFO abductions” were really Human ST.. I think there was a deeper message behind the “parasite” representing the horror and plague of Human ST. The theme was really about how accessible it is and since she accepted the payment from the lady she became part of the problem therefore having her karma be the parasite as she’s dragged through the entire abduction process which the last 30 minutes of the film represents. The purpose of the fair was to show where most abductions occur, the house/dungeon, the hidden cars and minivans with kid toys, clothes, and car seats in the back seat. This movies “horror” was really Human ST and her hatred for LA was the foreshadowing for the ending.

My thinking is more along the lines of those other people also had the parasite and when they slit their throats it allowed the one inside Angela to kind of gather them all up together. The movie feels like a pale imitation of a few Paranormal Activity movies blended together (and those movies aren't great to begin with); granted, instead of taking place in a house, it is in a car... and then a house. A douchebag protagonist, like Micah, but Annie is a million times more annoying; Micah was really stupid, whereas Annie just seems petty and cruel. Anyway, the final wackadoo chase sequence from the spooky thing feels like the endings of a couple of the Paranormal Activity movies, but somehow cheaper. If this movie was going for comedy, I think it needed to go even more over the top, rather than the few isolated jokes that FoundFlix noted.
