Foundry VTT is a virtual tabletop programme that allows you to run RPG games digitally, and virtually.
In this video we look at a Module that helps organise ALL our assets, including those we subscribe to through places like Patron. Sweet!

Wow, you didn't talk about the main reason I use Moulinette. So... If you pay for it, you get access to the cloud service. Then all the people you support that offer their stuff through Moulinette- can be accessed through it just by linking your patreon. So in the middle of the game when players are like "Actually- lets go to the forest! we can do the snow ruins later!" i can click Moulinette - click scene - type in "Forest" - and it will pull from all the people I support and give me all their forest maps to pick from. Click, and bam, fully function, walls, lighting, sounds sometimes too- all ready to go scenes i can just one click download. Then I can just grab some monsters, drop em in, and before everyone is back from the bathroom break I've got something for them to explore and a battle to fight if need be. Also, if you look at the bottom of the window with all the assets, you can see there are options for when you drag and drop things. Such as "Drop As: Tile" can also drop something as a token. Asset Grid size: 100 pixels - can be changed and will make it so everything you drop is set at the same resolution. and then it even has Macros that can be attached to the object as you drop it! O_O which means if you have a macro you use for a specific trap or setup for a prefab kinda thing- you can just have that macro, or even just some token magic macro on it- to apply the effect to the object as soon as you drop it. It's really powerful and useful- and I mostly just use it to browse through CzePeku maps... because they are so pretty and cool XD

Moulinette is a staple module in all my worlds. It has made the chaos of my tokens/tiles/images collections a much safer place to peruse. Thank you for highlighting such a great module.

I was happy in my self-imposed mess, but now I've looked at this, I feel guilty... This may become a permanent fixture in my setup.

This is great, thank you! I have a question though: I have maps that have more than one keyword and when I look for it in Moulinette it only looks at the file name. Do you know if it is possible to use some sort of tagging system in Foundry like for instance when I'm looking for a desert bandit camp at night it looks at either one of those keywords? I literally have thousands of maps and while I dont see myself adding tags to all of those, I would like to tag new maps that I buy. Do you know if such a thing is possible in Foundry or am I doomed to change the file names? :)

Haha. It's a good question. For the ones you buy, if they're through Patron you can just select that as your source, so they'll be collected together. If you're downloading them, I'd suggest plopping them into a folder structure, rather than re-naming them all. Probably MUCH quicker. Might take a while to do the initial organising though. You could go this a system such as "Maps" -> "Outdoors" -> "Desert" and drop all the relevant ones in. And then, unlike me, be strict with where you place new assets ;)

@@clay_golem Haha, yeah! Being strict helps with this I guess. I used to take the folder structure route in the past but ended up with so many maps that fit into multiple folders because they shared multiple different traits. I then just copied those to multiple folders but that really is a lot of HD space when you are working with so many maps. I wish I could find a better solution for it but I think renaming is my only good option. On the other hand, I dont think I will ever stop using Foundry so this will be of use in so many future campaigns. I will do some more research. If I find anything that better suits my needs, I will let you know.
