What a gorgeous design! My suggestion for the blue name would be Neptune Blue. The edgeless symmetrical design, the precise, coarse, knurled middle section and the deep blue color give me a very space age feel. Love the review, and the pen! Thanks for the video doodlebud :)

Hey, Doodlebud! This is Jim, a subscriber to your channel and I love it (I don't post a lot due to lack of time but I always watch it!). My "name" for the R615 in the blue colour, as per your request in this video, would be"... "STARRY NIGHT BLUE" ... based on Van Gogh 's famous painting, for the following reasons: 1) The colour of the FP (as seen on my smartTV) resembles very closely many of the Blue shades in Van Gogh's famous masterpiece. 2) the metal center resembles the center of the circles in the original painting (which are thought by many to resemble our own galaxy). 3) specially since if the R615 is rotated on its axis (making a circle until it stops based on its one sided flat part) it resembles the center circular patterns in the painting. 4) as seen in your KZfaq video (and without seeing it on-hand), and also due to the lighting, it does show different shades of blue and sparkling blue tones (from darker to lighter), similar to the painting. 5) The Titanium Flex nib is an extraordinary tool for: a) Fountain Pen enthusiasts and Collectors; b) Calligraphy artists; c) Drawing and Sketching Artists as a whole, always looking for a great tool to do Art with! Keep doing what you do in KZfaq because you help a lot of people as myself to be in love with Fountain Pens (I use them every day for EVERYTHING... Writing, Drawing, Doodling...). Cheers! 😁👍

What a lovely pen! And the the attempt of creating a modern flex nib is appreciated. If pressed for a color name, I'd recommend "Abyss Blue," to reference the depth of strokes achieved within the calligraphy possible with this pen. What a beauty!

1. Thanks for the information and commentary. 2. I look forward to seeing the progress on that interesting prototype flex nib. 3. That gigantic drop-off from the body to the section is a deal-breaker for me personally. However the other model, the L130, has NO drop-off, so it suits me perfectly, and I have one in the mail. 4. I really hope that the prototype is made to fit in the L130, and is available seperately.

I also had a 1st batch of the Alchemy nib and it was skipping very badly so am waiting for a replacement. There was a small gap between the nib and the feed. I didn't get as bad a lift off as yours but the skipping was worse. For the brief moments that it did write the experience was really pleasant. Beautifully ground fine tip and a gorgeous flex feel. Looking forward to receiving the finished product soon.

The Good Blue is a great name, as is blue streak suggested by another. I also like the idea of 'cesium blue' since the element is the right color and the nib is meant to harken back to a different time. Adn thanks for the good videos. I love the scientific measure of inks. It's nice to think about them in a more objective manner.

This was a great video. I think that the Good Blue make some fantastic pens and these are no exception. My name for this blue would be “Blue For You”. A brass finish would also complement “Blue For You”. I saw it at the LPS and this blue is amazing! Thanks again DB and catch ya next time.

Love the contet! My background with fountain pens turns out to be the same as Sunil - my Berol handwriting pen lasted around four years after my Year Three handwriting test before it landed nib down, and I loved that thing to bits! I feel like Majestic Blue would fit well with the rest of the names, like Champagne, but wouldn't contrast other names' themes with Summer Blue.

Great vid as usual Doodlebud! Others have suggested Engineer’s/ Steel / Layout Blue I think. I think “True Blue” sounds quite good but it has right wing connotations here in the UK.

I hadn't even thought about the heat of the water used for cleaning pens. Thanks for the tips. Regarding the bulb syringe, I have one with a seam but my natural approach would be to apply pressure at the base of the bulbous part, not squeeze the sides. So basically I have been doing it right! 😁

I'm so bad at naming things. I really liked your idea of naming it The Good Blue, in fact that's exactly what I thought when I first saw it in your other video: "Oh, that's the Good Blue Pen". It looks like a Cobalt Blue or Azure to me. I don't think it's Neon or Electric Blue. But if they're just naming colors and have no other shades of blue, they can also stick with "Blue".

That is an awesome pen! And, of course, your review kicked butt!! I think a good name for the pen would be "the Great Blue," after the great blue hole off the coast of Belize. A lot of the pictures are that same brilliant blue with what looks like silver sandy coral or something around it. It's perfect!!!

I agree with having it as his signature pen bearing the name of the company. My other name suggestion is Spring Blue; Spring both for the flex nib and for those stormy spring days we get in the U.K. that make the colours of nature super saturated. Thanks for the always excellent review and insights. I’ve been wondering whether to wait for the new steel flex or to go for the titanium nib and you just swung me to the titanium.

Boy do I need a bottle of Diamine Sargasso sea now!! Love these pens. Glad he made a roll stop on them as I'm a clip guy for use as a roll stop. Can't wait to see what he comes up with on the cutout nib. Love that he wants feedback so he can make things better. I think you are right on the name of the Blue pen Doodlebud. Keep it simple. I know what a boring response from me... But I agree with you haha Really want to try one of these pens/nibs because i love bouncy flexy nibs.

It's a wonderful color. Someone suggested calling it Prussian blue. That is my favorite for the names I have read. The Good Blue is good as well.

This really tempts me to upgrade to a flex nib fountain pen. For the colour, as right now I yearn to travel I'd call this "Deep Sea Blue", however "Methyl Blue" sounds more in line with the technical/engineering inspiration of the pens' name.

I appreciate the review, high quality, and very knowledgeable as always, I truly enjoy all of the videos you release. The giveaway is absolutely amazing and very generous. With all of that said, I still stand by my original comment that I posted on the sneak peek video of these pens you shared with us. All of those pens are wonderful and super high quality. Anyone would be fortunate to have any of these pens. However, this blue pen is by far my favorite. I am terrible with names and naming things, but I think "Living Blue" would be a cool name. I had originally thought, "Living The Good Blue Life" would be great, but that may be a tad too much of a name. Lol. Thank you again for taking the time to do all of the reviews and videos that you share. The content you post is great, and the information has helped me more than you know.

Great review. I keep eyeing The Good Blue pens put haven't pulled the trigger, yet. These might put me over the edge. I think the blue look a little like tanzanite so may be something along those lines.

The first name suggestion that popped into my head was "Ocean Froth", because the blue makes me think of the ocean and then that stainless steel kinda looks like the froth you get on top of hard-hitting waves. It'd go with the theme of a flex nib pen, too, as the flex gives "wavy" lines.

Blue is the simplest and because of it is best: not "Good Blue" but just Bllue. You're absolutly right. The thinner the hair lines more the variation shows. And the ink shows very nice.

The Good Blue makes such exquisite pens... As for the names, 4:46 : "Steeled Sapphire" or "Sapphire Titan" (for that R615's sapphire-blue colouring, and its titanium nib) would be my vote... P.S.: Your suggestion about it being the signature pen, aka "The Good Blue," is also a fab idea! I appreciate the no-nonsense approach to your videos. I like the name "British Blue" because it's a great breed of cat. 🙂 Also, there's the simple play on words for The Good Blue being a British company. Alternatively, I like the idea of calling this one The Good Blue, as you suggested.
