The Toronto Raptors could be planning on selecting a center with the 19th overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft, either to add to their depth in the positon or even to replace Jakob Poeltl at the 5 spot. In this video, Jacob Gramegna covers the four players that Masai Ujiri's front office should consider in the first round of the draft. Some fans may be looking at the likes of Kyle Filiposwki and Zach Edey, but perhaps Yves Missi and Zach Edey are the players that should be focused on even more.

I like Edey and Kel-el-ware. I watched Edey in college this year. He was used as a one dimensional player.. I think he could be better utilized. Also he beat out sarr and clingham in agility scores at the combine and 3/4 sprint vs clingham so I think he has been working on his speed and I have seen a difference. Lastly his mentality is I will do what the coach needs and what helps win. Kel scored a 100 at the combine. I think he is severely underrated but could have an ayton type personality. I never looked into Yves but you make a great case for him and seems like his game could translate well in the nba just from what you said but darko is looking for passers so this seems like a knock on him.

@@GoodGame391 yves has the mentality, and could be like a 7 ft siakam who is athletic and quick. ware could be like a myles turner but he wont be able to bang with bigs. his 3 pt shooting was low volume so cant really say he can shoot the 3 well. edey has the basketball IQ, he could be like a jakob poeltl with 3 pt shooting. edey has succeeded at every level so his work ethic and mentality is there. if he trims down like 25lbs he could be more mobile also.

Kelel Ware has the highest upside. Would be a good Koloko replacement.

Doesn't Koloko have a blood clot issue? That's why we were forced to let him go in the first place. He definitely would have been our future center otherwise.

Yves Missi is our guy ❤ team needs a defensive rim protector with upside and room to grow. He’ll spend time in the G league and project as our Centre of the future.

Yves Missi has only 4 years of experience playing organized basketball. He’s already a high impact defender with a non-stop motor. He’s athletic and has good footwork for his size. With the right development, he could potentially reach a higher ceiling than what most give him credit for.

Edey could easily average 20 points a game in nba he could be a better Gasol who also slow but learned to be in the right spots at right time to block shots. Draft Edey and pay Gasol to teach him defense

Zach Edey is the safest pick. We know his weaknesses but he’s NBA ready. Best at setting screens, an absolute beast in the paint, protects the rim in drop coverage, and has even shown he can hit wide open 3’s and midrange shots with his slow release. He has the potential to be one of the best offensive centers in the NBA.

We’d be lucky if Zach is still there at 19. It seems like some kind of mass insanity that people don’t think he’s a top 20 pick. The combine proved that he’s quicker than people thought he was. But centres don’t have to be as fast as wing players. A good coach can teach his team to play defence with a slower center. Tim Duncan wasn’t fast yet he’s one of the best players of all time. I think we should trade up about eight spots to make sure we get him.

I suspect that Edey will be gone by 19. He has been underestimated up until lately, but I think that scouts are finding that he is a lot better than originally thought and is starting to climb as a potential lottery pick.

Whenever I see Intangibles being a "negative" trait of a player, it yells to me "LAZY!!!" which makes sense seeing how Ware is labeled as an "Underachiever" ... But if the Toronto Rapors are betting to lose the next two years to get quality draft picks, then he sounds like a starter for the Raptors already 😄

If Zack Eday is there at 19 you take him .. At worse Zack is JV, but I think his offensive potential is much greater then JV.. This draft is doesn’t have legit superstar, but there are plenty of guys who could end up being high end role players or borderline all stars..

I think you're making a mistake in that assuming player and teams cannot adapt to weaknesses and maximize strengths. That's why Zach's now forecasted to go before #19. I predict he will go on to have a good NBA career. The rest of the players you're high are a dime a dozen.

@@INFINITE-IA probably or probably not. Average of nba player's career is below 5years. More than 60 players enter to nba every year but like 70% of them are gone within 4yrs. Edey is the one of most poralized type of player.
