Did you watch the same clip as the rest of us? She is nowhere near adjacent to mentally stable enough to adopt and is an active danger to innocent women and children. She is so far gone that she no longer sees babies and children as people but only as objects to be stolen, bartered, or entitled to.

Adoption is actually extremely difficult and insanely expensive in the vast majority of cases. It is also a very painful process for most involved. Especially if you're looking for an infant or toddler. Its not a quick fix to infertility like many people believe it is and its unfair and unrealistic to treat it as such.

I remember hearing that a whole lot of, if not most of, Lenny's lines were purely ad libed. He was so quick with them that some parts of his scripts were ignored when he came up with some of these.

I agree. We got this, the murder of a woman who "died" a decade earlier, and the crazy wife who drove over her husband all in one episode. This was absolutely nuts all around. "Three deaths and a kidnapping, and I'm only on my second cup of coffee." That goes right up there with Green's reaction to the crazy wife's explanation - "And my mama wonders why I'm not married." Days like this might be enough for Donald Cragen to go back to the bottle in order to make sense of things.

This episode was fantastic. Reminded me of Criminal Intent in how it focuses on the investigation. The writer of this episode also wrote the novel Sleepers.

I kinda understand how she felt, how desperate and depressed. My husband and I wished for another baby for twelve years. After all the waiting, hoping and all the disappointment, depression ect, we finally decided to just leave it be, be happy with one . Three months later the test was positive. I feel sorry for every women who wants a child but can't have one naturally. Everyone should. The emotional stress and pain is similar to losing a loved one, proven fact.

The problem is that people want to be pregnant, not really have a child. If it was about loving a child, do you know how many children are in need of a loving caring family? Instead of stressing about it, just do as you guys did, if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, then we can be a good family for someone in need anyway..

@@sarahc1558 .... whether L&O was on fir 10 years prior is irrelevant. It is the "style" of the writing. It was CSI that popularized the concept of having multiple "incidents" on-going within a single episode. Heck, every single episode of CSI was like that. L&O hadn't done that. They followed a single incident from investigation to prosecution. That in itself was novel about L&O.

Aren't the cops supposed to go into the bathroom with the suspect and also their car probably should have had that shield because he could hurt those cops still? Just because he has his hands in handcuffs, it doesn't mean he can't kick and bash his head against theirs.

Cop cars have the shield. Detective cars are often used in stakeouts and undercover work, so no shield. And they probably figured he wasn't going anywhere since it IS a gas station bathroom and he didn't seem suicidal.

You'd be surprised how picky adoption agencies can be, many don't allow signal parents to adopt

Judging by the way the lady was acting…she was probably denied the opportunity to adopt any children. They do background checks and they will test to see if your mentally capable of adopting them especially after many daily pregnancies
