Jedd Fisch, offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll, and the Washington Huskies earned a huge win on the recruiting trail on Thursday morning when four-star offensive lineman Champ Taulealea announced his commitment to Washington over USC, Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Oregon, and more. Ranked as the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the country by 247Sports, Taulealea is the biggest win for Washington's coaching staff so far in the 2025 class as it prepares for life in the Big Ten and could use that momentum to help reel in more of the blue chip prospects the coaching staff has its sights set on, including Christian Thatcher, Matai Tagoa'i, Chris Lawson, Phillip Bell, Kaleb Edwards, Vander Ploog, Douglas Utu, John Mills, and Dijon Lee. Believe me Oregon wanted Chap as did a lot of the big time programs. Just look at his offer list which IMO is more important than the stars.

He never had Oregon as a finalist, if he had I’d be surprised if they wouldn’t be stoked to have him.

I never understand the big affection for recruiting sites, being they are right when it is the most obvious pick. And as have never been right at when they do or do not pick UW. UW has never been in this recruiting hype so scheduling show, and I do not want to be. That has been Oregon's job all these years. It has been USC's job. As only one school wins out in the end anyway. The class that just got drafted into the NFL, most of them were 3 stars worth of talent. Bralen Trice was even 3 stars when he came out. I cannot tell you it anymore times. But Texas AM and 20 other schools do better than us in every recruiting class by ranking sites. We did not have a high-ranking recruiting class last year playing when we were playing in the Natty. I am just happy that the coaches got someone they liked. 4 stars or 3 stars or no stars as I see Zach Durfee was not really rated until now either. I mean I can tell you all a story through the years that comes out that way.
