@@khalidfalvey4148 This music, Motown, started around 1960, when the south was still segregated. Music was segregated, black stations played music by black artists, and white stations played white artists. This music crossed over and black and white fans loved it. The radio was forced to play it. Blacks and whites had a common thing they loved, the music. It brought us together. It was the start of integration. How do you not know this?

These songs defined my love life during the 60's. I am a 72 year old white guy who just loves Motown. I used to sing My Girl to the lady that became my wife every chance I got. There was always color. Most of these artists had to use the back entrance to perform.

Oh you see color. That's why you had to make the "I see no color" comment. These were very talented black young men who were mistreated but still overcame in spite of, to become successful artists. Oh you see color. You'd see it if they were walking down the street and not holding a microphone in their hands.
@aimannorzahariwod2 жыл бұрын
Of course a white guy like you will say "No color, just music." The color component will always be there mate. These guys performed at the height of discrimination and perservered. Don't discount the color component as It's an important part of the REAL story.
@kennygreig4562 жыл бұрын
@@aimannorzahariwod As a white guy may I say of course the colour component should always be there, without meaning to cause offense. The reason I say that is if I were black I'd be damned proud of Motown and all the extremely talented artists that came through there. These 2 and The Drifters I adore the most with Sugar Pie Honey Bunch that cherry on top for me, only improvement being it could be 5 mins longer.

OMG, that was so good!!!! Bravo to two the greatest groups in history. The Temptations know they were so slick, still are but wow back then. Yes!!!

It’s so fun and interesting to see both of these groups side by side and their contrasting styles. Levi himself said he wasn’t “a heck of a singer”. He considered himself more of a musical story teller. Two sides of a coin, both pure gold.

Together with Marvin's live version of "What's going on", this was absolutely the best live performance at the Motown 25 TV show in 1983.

MOTOWN - The encapsulation of true music and performance. Motown made my life go round, even though, back then I could not understand a word they were singing. What a wonderful time it was back then.
