FIRST ONE FOR THE YEAR It’s a new client not someone that has been following my maintenance program once again.
That’s right most of the engines we replace are not my regular clients.
 Sometimes, yes, very rare and like always there is always a reason.
People who watch the videos and listen carefully to the end, know most of the reasons, but this video includes those reasons as the other videos. Please check the playlists

Let's be honest here, that car has done exceptionally well to go this far. 2009, 300k km, original injectors and at least visually looks like its been poorly maintained and only just blown a piston. To me this is an excellent example of how durable these things are 💪

I wrote in the last video. It's unlikely that the starting battery to starter motor goes through the fuse. They probably started off the auxiliary battery which directed current through the fuse to the starter motor.

This alternator fuse is an interesting dilemma. I am going to take a punt here. I reckon that fuse got hot because they were charging a lithium battery without dcdc charger. The battery will take as much as it can as they have very little electrical resistance and so for a period the alternator would be delivering full output. Hence the hot fuse.

I blew a alternator fuse a few years ago and it was a really hard job for the auto electrical bloke to change it on that fuse box.

I dont see any relays for those light bars or driving lights, so where are they getting the power from. Maybe thats why the alternator fuse is melting when the lights are on at night.

If it’s anything like my African special, many of the fuses had blown but had copper wires twirled around the bases to keep continuity. You couldn’t tell from the top but removing each fuse I found about 7 that had been jumped that way.

I'm in the process of removing the ARB bull bar on my 2005 now. So many problems that it's caused. I actually use it as a work vehicle, so it's quite handy as a tool for me, along with the winch occasionally. The corrosion and butchery from the installation is a joke. They've used a grinder to cut the original parts. Genius. They've also attached electrical earth lines to painted parts that have all sorts of other corrosion issues. I'd be pretty pissed off if I'd paid big dollars to have it installed. Gold nugget moment. Puff, puff. Banda Bing.

Has the owner put a solar charger on the battery system without MPPT or faulty MPPT whilst charging turned the vehicle on. Or has he connected the solar charger wrong way around.

Those fuses are bolted in so probably just a loose connection inside the fuse box, it could have had an aftermarket alternator fitted that is higher amp rated than standard or there is a loose terminal or faulty battery.

Oh yea many vehicles do have catch cans fitted from factory . Stainless mesh can be sourced in many different grades and styles Mesh commonly used in engine breathers By not fitting egr delete /catch can you need to clean inlet manifold at no more than 100,000km to maintain/stabilize fuel economy and throttle response . Dirty combustion chambers shorten injector life and degrade spray pattern performance quicker vs an engine breathing clean air .
@Fourby4Diesel

That’s right get rid of the problem which is the EGR not the oil and you’ll have a clean intake. Thanks for telling us we didn’t know that. 🤣🤣🤣

EGR and PCV/oil have been causing issues on some model cars since the late 80`s . Did I say some injectors wear out due to this . EGR to diesel is the chief of contamination . Some makers fit catch cans factory OEM. For the greenies EGR PCV work but service costs should be accounted for manifold clean 100k // injectors service check every 100k // EGR service every40--50k . Many had inspections Various vehicles do some of this in the 80`s some diesels came close. Modern vehicles donot need servicing !!!!!!!!

One the fuse issue, Probably, because it has two battery, the owner think he can runs a lot power consuming stuff loading the system in long period, without care thinking he has a spare battery to start the engine,
