When I was a lifeguard my whistle was a Fox 40 Classic whistle. I still have it to this day and it’s still as loud as ever!

It might be hard to tell through the video, but it really doesn't seem all that loud. I know manual whistles can be quite loud. Is it louder than the sound a cellphone could make?

I saw it only now that you tell me. That one looks really modern and hi-tech. If it's true, it means it has with 20db more than this one, at least in theory. That would be a really great improvement.

I don't know how loud the Windsor is, but I can assure you will not feel the Fox40 is not loud enough :). For me it is outstanding, coming from a normal whistle.

@@justinlazocapra3766 Yes. it is very good. it depends how many times you press the button. usually a battery will last about 6 months if you're a Sports Teacher or Referee. The rubber of the button will eventually wear out but you can easy fix it with a small paper ball placed beneath it, when the rubber will eventually break. You'll be able to fix it and it'll last years and years after that. I am very happy with it.

I bought an lithium 9v and use my electronic whistle everyday for officiating basketball, lacrosse, football, and have yet to change the battery it's been over 1 year. And I use the electronic whistle everyday. The grip on whistle it's self will disappear before the battery will run out.

Dump the battery it comes with and get a energizer lithium battery. No acid leak and it will last alot longer.

This whistle is way too quiet to be used in stadiums or longer distances. This whistle was disappointing for me.

I can assure you this whistle is very powerful. It can be used on a entire handball field. Indoors is even more powerful. If you want it to use it on a soccer field, yeah, you might have some issues, but I think even there it can be used with success.

I understand. i'll try to correct it in the future. Keep in mind English is not my first language :) Personally I would choose this whistle over a conventional one anytime of the day. It's very powerful and so easy and hygienic to use.

@@m3rovingian Didn't mean to make fun of you, apologies. Personally I'd use the mechanical Fox 40 classic over this in my use. My use is hiking/backpacking so having something that will never die and is superb is very important to me and it seems in other videos that the Fox 40 Classic is a bit louder which can make a difference.

No, it doesn't. It's a very good electronic whistle. Make sure you move the thing from 1, 2 and 3 for it to make the sounds. Most probably you have it on 0 and it's turned off.

It does the job very well and it's much more convenient to use, than to blow all day long in a classic one, until your eye pop out of your face.

It is a clean alternative to a classic whistle. It is very powerful in reality, trust me.

@@m3rovingian What do you mean a clean alternative? Like, in reference to carbon footprint? It's plastic and uses a battery. How is that better than a metal whistle, for example?

@@RobHTech You don't have to stick it into your mouth at all, that's what I meant. All the Sports teachers are ecstatic after switching to an electronic whistle. This in not for someone who uses it from time to time. When you have to whistle all day long you'll appreciate the tech like this.

@@m3rovingian I agree with that. I wasn't thinking of use while working, except as a life guard, which I thought would be a problem with water. But it uses DC anyway. I found the vid because I'm searching for whistles or other very ear piercing noise makers to be used for self defense. So far, It's been hard. I suppose most inventors who make such things end up selling patents to the government or something.

@@RobHTech Trust me it will be very loud, at least from my point of view. the camera cannot record the sound as sharp as in reality, but my ears were hurting long after I stopped pressing the button. I could still hear the loud sound of it.

This one is really loud trust me. You just have to make sure the battery is not depleted. If you see a decrease in noise level replace the battery with a new one.
