Love Fox engines mainly because they were made in the United States. I found extra castor oil in the fuel and 10% Nitro and my 45 ran awesome!! Thank for doing a review on the Fox.👍 Your awesome Dave. Love your videos.

I like Fox engines. Sure they take a little more time to break in but once set up they're awesome. Powerful.

My first RC airplane, a Eagle 63 had a Fox .45. That airplane flew great with that engine. I also owned a Fox .78, that engine was under powered for the airplane it was on ( Lazy Ace ).

Fox engines have always gotten a bad wrap. My experience with them is just as your video shows. They can be sensitive to nitro level and they like a little more oil. Once tuned they are powerful and dependable. Good review Dave. I currently own a .45 and a .50.

That is a good engine and better with 10 or 15% Nitro. The fox 35 control line engine is one of the best engines ever made for control line airplanes. Many, many prints for scratch building have been designed around the 35. Once you get to know them and use them they are very good.

NO FAI fuel on the FOX engines .. almost ALL of the Fox engines - exception Fox .35 (which best operates on 5% nitro) - love to operate with a minimum of 10% nitro all the way to 25% nitro .. On that particular engine which I also have, a 10% nitro with around 23% total oil ( castor / synthetic blend ) will make it run like a champ !!!

Not sure about early model fox engines but latte model motors are hit and miss on craftsmanship. you got to be happy with that transition. traditionally, Fox had good designs and generated good power. the execution at assembly time did widely vary though. I have two Eagle 74 motors. the first one cracked the block due to voids in the part. The carb berrel was messed up on that diagonal slot. Seems the tool that milled it slipped. it was an obvious defect that should have been detected. Is your motor ringed? If so, it might have been run with synthetic which keeps internals cleaner. If run with castor, then the owner did a damn good job setting the needle to keep internal temps low. I would like to see it run on 5% nitro to see if the power builds. cheers!
