I wore one of these when I wrecked at a bmx race. I hit hard and went head first into the face of a jump, knocking me out. I was unresponsive for 30 minutes and was taken to the emergency room. A day later I walked out with no lasting injuries. This helmet saved my life. If I wore a cheaper helmet, I probably would have died or be paralyzed.

First full face purchase....Bought a size large however, my cheeks get pushed in do you suggest getting a bigger size or sucking it up in hopes it loosens up 😊

Do the fluid packs block airflow..? do they keep your head cool, or do they heat up and become uncomfortable? how many vents to pull air thru..?

good they went over to magnetic system, one of plastic screws failed during a ride so visor was hanging off one screw, So I had to take it off, eventually I taped it on with gorilla tape, which works great.

With your size medium are you running the thickest pads available inside the helmet

Helmet strap looks better more horizontal so who cares what haters say lol. It is also more comfortable on the area around the eyes.

how does the venting compare to 2016 model? I found it to be quite warm in mid summer when temps went up to 28C or past 30C.

We also think it's a bit warm when you're not moving. Could use a bit more airflow in our opinion.

On fox website it says 56 cm is a size small, so that's what I ordered, you said a medium is what you got and it's snug, will a small be too small for me then??

What was the outcome? I wore a proframe size medium. I just ordered a large in the rpc. Planning on using the thickest pads available on the chin and neck

is there any proof that all this modern mip tech or similar tech is really helping. i cant imagine that this small slip movement is any different to what happens with the head without it inside the helmet. such thin fluid layers i doubt make at this force levels any difference to what happens when its not intergrated , looks all to me like a bunch of mambo chumbo to sell new helmets . sorry for being so ignorant :)

5:21 but did they put the helmet on by pivoting it down from the back from the widest point at the head? that's the correct way of putting a helmet on, I had the 2016 Rampage Pro Carbon, and as you mention about the new helmet it's snug, and you won't fit the head in by just forsing head in, this is the fastest, most comfortable and easiest way to do it, and it can be done one handed, I've tried. The way you do it in this video won't work so well, it will not ways work so well, and is not suitable for one handed use. There should not be any reason to fight the chin bar. unless they have changed something, but what I wrote applies for all full-face helmets without a adjustment dial in the back. Basically you put it on in similar fashion to when you took it off, just do it in reverse and instead of bushing helmet up and pivoting it up you do the opposite.

500$ for a helmet... I use a Bell Sanction, cost me 80$ and it weights 800g, only thing it lacks is a removable liner... Good enough ventilation, great fit (that's really personal though) and proper protection (all the necessary standards are met) I personally don't believe in MIPS like systems for fullface helmets, as the chin piece holds your head semi rigidly anyway.

From a guy that had a pretty major crash that shattered(not just broke) my right collarbone and gave me a PRETTY BAD concussion, I'll vouch for and implore anyone and everyone to have MIPS even in a full face helmet. During hard hits, even a bit of rotational give can make the difference between being a 10 second Tom for a day(that's what my lady and surgeon's RN called me since I kept repeating the same questions over and over lol) or a vegetable for a lifetime. Also, cheap out on whatever you want, but when it comes to safety, I'll never be a cheap ass. To each their own though. Good luck.

Downvoted because your helmet review is not a long term review.... The helmet shown seems to be brand new. If you want a good review then go watch long time reviews.... Then you get a real review. Check mtb forums regarding this. All are saying the same as what I go write below here. As much as I love my Fox RPC silver, for the price I payed it's bad. Got mine close to a year now. The black matte might be the only one without the bad stickering done, but all beast and silver edition are badly done. Then the most common issue is the chin-strap that starts tearing up after 2-3 months of use. For a $500 helmet that is like WTF!!! The quality is bad for the price you pay for it. All these youtubers that have been given this helmet by Fox are given it ofc a good review, , and also those sponsored by Fox. So don't trust them. Also reviews that only show newly tested helmets or have been used for a few weeks are useless. As much I love my Fox RPC, the quality is not up to the price tag you pay for it. Step up your game Fox Racing.

Thanks for taking time to write in. While this helmet shown may look new, we have another that is more worn and we also have the exact same helmet but the Moto/Dirt Bike approved version and have spent 15 or so hours in that moto one as well. Fox did not ask us for, request or suggest we give them any sort of review or favorable mention beyond trying the helmet out and reporting back on OUR findings. We know several other friends with this same helmet, and we haven't had any issues with the chin stap, however, if in-fact that is an issue, then we totally agree with you 100% that is an issue to be brought up for a helmet at this price point. As are the decals! This price point means elite/top tier level product and longevity and finish should match that. Ours hasn't had any issues, so we have no experience as such. Thanks again for writing in and perhaps your experience will help inform others. In our opinion it's a very cool looking helmet, the fit it subjective and the safety technology is pretty neat. It's not our first pick however, and we believe the review gets that point across.
