A familiar problem in the Portland metro area- street takeovers caused chaos over the weekend, two of which involved shooting scares.

In Washington state, they don't play around... Felony charges for doing tire marks on streets, but ONLY if there's a rainbow painted on it. 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂

I feel sorry for the Tri met bus drivers who are trying to just do their job on days like this and have to deal with streets like this.. , trying provide for their families in a city like this.

Since when is this law abiding? With all the city cameras how can these lawless folks not be charged with crimes? In Spokane, 2 young males road their scooters on a rainbow painting at an intersection and got in HUGE trouble for leaving skid marks and yet Portland does this? WTF is wrong wiht ya all. When we used to race, we'd take it out back country roads so innocent people/homes/properties were NOT in harms way. PS I'm 56 now and i'm not saying what i did in my youth was acceptable behavior because it certainly was NOT.

Ironically, many of them come down from Washington. Not all of them mind you. We have plenty of local a$$hats who love to participate in this crap here too. But a lot of these events tend to have WA plates... That's why North Portland is a common target. It's right over the bridge for a quick getaway.

There used to be a beautiful statue of George Washington at that intersection. The police did nothing as it was being toppled, but at least we have street takeovers to replace it.

Oh well, at least it is not over here in Hillsboro where everyone is so civilized and free of street racing. The Cops here are really good and speeders too only a handful of people exceeding 100mph in a 35😂
