Apple River stabbing trial: Jailhouse interrogator testimony [FULL]

Lt. Brandi Hart, of the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office conducted the jailhouse interrogation of Miu after the stabbing on the Apple River. The defense acknowledged Miu lied during the interrogation in jail.
He told Hart the group of teenagers insulted him and grabbed his snorkel, and threw it - and then another group of mostly girls came over and called him a child molester. He said they attacked him, and he went into self-defense mode. Then he returned to his tubing group, who asked him what happened, but he wouldn't tell them because he needed to calm down.

because the blood alcohol test is done as part of a series of tests when you're sent to hospital.. ie the teens who were stabbed..

I am pretty sure he was examined at hospital by a medical pro. In prior testimony or it was the med examiner. In any event his logic of not asking for a lawyer, making untrue statements make his guilt more likely. I still believe wrong was done on both sides ie the group could have walked away and called 911 on him rather than attack. I feel this may end up being 2nd degree murder, a crime of passion. I believe he was looking for the cell phone and approached the teens in a way to make them defensive. But the reaction lasted so very long and 6 ppl became 13 at the end. Very sad event.

Thank God they have a video. I clearly saw him holding hid mask and snorkel and no one ever took it from him. He dropped them to get his knife bc the mask and snorkel were in his right hand. Ffs, what a bold faced liar. Insane. So glad they have this video as well.

So here the defense attorney is asking that we indulge the murderer’s lies because he was under stress from the murder he committed. The defense did not seem to afford any of the victims or witnesses the same indulgences because they did not experience high levels of stress from the event? I’m thinking in particular about the kids testimony that was best friends with Isaac. Makes me not feel warm and fuzzy things about the defendant nor his attorney.

This is so hard to listen to. He’s telling one major lie after another. Why?! He thought it would be his word against a bunch of kids. He didn’t know there was a video that would contradict him. So. Many. LIES. It doesn’t mean the jury won’t acquit him, but it sure goes to his character and how he would throw false blame on the kids, one of whom is DEAD. Tell the truth. And the answer is because he intended to make it seem as though he did not willingly engage with a large group of angry people while carrying, eventually brandishing and ultimately using a deadly weapon when it was not necessary to do so.

@@victorh7675 he actually stabbed 5 kids. and if you are talking about Isaac, he is stated by the coroner to have been 17 years old, 6'0 and 134 pounds at the time Nicolae killed him. Nicolae was 250 pounds at that time. Either way, it doesn't matter. Nicolae had a folding knife that he used to kill Isaac and stab four others. He'll now go away for life, and that will be nice.

Miu just said he was drinking beer all day . Was he tested? He also takes medicine that can interfere with alcohol. Possible side effects . Which could be extreme to the brain function. How he received what was going on around him. Hallucinations , confusion, anger and violence. Alcohol is never good to mix with medicine. Decision making is out the door in this case. He did what he did and he has to be accountable for his actions. I'm sure he wouldn't do what he did if he was sober . To late for that. People was stabed and one boy killed . Regardless of how he received it, if I was the man in the video, I would've protected myself the same way. He is old and had heart surgery. (They’re underage drunk kids) you’re double their size and age… he lost his temper. Rushed their floats. Physically touched their legs and rafts and stops it from moving. The kids are yelling at him to leave, adults come over to tell him to leave. Not once did he try to remove himself from the situation. He instigated it. And it’s not clear but I’m pretty sure he touched that Madi girl first, that’s when he gets punched… Besides that. He lied about “taking” the knife from the kids… claimed he didn’t have a knife. You can see it clipped into his pocket in the video. His wife even said he always has it. He stands there smiling with it in his hand for a good minute before he pokes the girl in the side and kills Isaac then disembowels AJ. He says the kids took his snorkel. He literally drops it while he’s trying to grabs the teens rafts. You can see him put it in his mouth and use both hands to grab the raft. As he’s doing it you see the snorkel fall out of his mouth… He lied to police/investigators/and his crew. Tried to play dumb.. He was double their age and size. He should’ve been the adult and walked away initially. But he let his Pride and ego wouldn’t let him walk away.

Her glasses stayed on her head, she didn't drop her drink, her vaping pen, or her cell phone. He touched the tubes, I don't think he touched them; if he did it was by accident. Not like a punch in the face, for sure. He had said he was looking for a phone, they held up a phone, he misunderstood why they held it up. That's what I saw. He dropped his googles and snorkel when he did that. I think Nic said "I'm looking for my googles" and Jawahn Cockfield said "He's looking for little girls!" There weren't any around btw. Nic moved away from them when Jawahn followed him, getting others involved, saying "Who is this?" And "for da culture!" The women had their hands on Nic and Nic, with a weapon in his right hand, put his left arm out to stop Maddy but he did not touch her. Dante Carlson said something like never hit a woman to justify his striking Nic, while everyone laughed loudly. Dante punches Nic in the face multiple times, Jawahn and the crowd screaming like hyenas. A.J. Martin pushed him down, Tony Carlson puts his hands on him, yells and then one second later, Schuman comes up and physically engages. Don't treat your elders like this.

Yeah, I’ve been lambasted for bringing up his lies and inconsistencies, but now THIS gets released. Wow. He thought it would be his word against a bunch of kids. Well I have compassion for how terrible it was that the kids started yelling really awful things at him this video sort of changes it a bit. He also never just walked away. But the alleged he was a pedo, looking for little girls, and then started to get physical with him. She inserted herself into something that had nothing to do with her, he tried to explain himself to her but she was just belligerently yelling at him and touch him. Nothing an appeal can’t help.

The funny thing about all these old people saying "underage kids shouldn't be drinking" is that boomers had way higher rates of underage drinking than any subsequent generation. 3/4th of Americans have their first drink before 21 and it has been declining. gen z drinks less than any other generation before them.

When he first ran up on the boys, his eyes were very dead looking and then he grabbed their tubes and put his legs in between the tubes to stop them. Never said why he was there that I saw in the video! He was the first to hit anyone and the kids were asking him to leave! If he had left the scene one boy would still be alive and the other four injured and the remaining people would never have to suffer PTSD from this event for the rest of their lives!

He believed they had the phone. He didn’t like the fact that they were children who were drinking and doing drugs. He wanted a good and peaceful time tubing with his group. Instead… did not go his way. He may have felt he should get the river to himself. He wanted to get rid of the crowd. Too many people, too many young drunk kids. No parent supervision. Too much noise. Too many happy people. (Maybe not enough little girls) The boys asked “What are you doing?” He tried to insult them by replying “I’m looking for little girls” He called them little girls. He wasn’t afraid. It backfired. They (the boys) called it for what it was. He got mad, like really mad, like angry, like really angry, and rage… (seconds later 1 2 3 4 and 5) Then he lied, got rid of the knife and lied some more. Enjoyed somewhat of a peaceful tube ride to the river exit. Lied some more. Now he must lie forever. Sadly some may even believe his lies.
