I’m female and I carry a knife in my pocket everyday if I wear pants or shorts with pockets. I try to only buy pants/shorts which only have pockets. No matter what’s in my pockets, if I have pockets, I’m always playing with my right pocket and what’s in that pocket. I’m right handed I guess that’s why I mostly play with my right pocket. I do it without thinking. I do not play with my pocket to see if my knife is still there I just do it out of habit. I’m certainly not looking for someone to cut either. Knives are extremely helpful. I’m a gardener and use it daily in my garden but it comes in handy for many things throughout my day. I use it like a screw driver. Use to open things, I use it to cut boxes open, bags of garden soil, fertilizer but also to open my mail at the mailbox. A knife is more than a knife it’s a use all type of tool. Yes women use tools too. Not only is it a use all tool it’s handy if an animal attacks you or a person. This guy messes with his pocket does not mean much to me. I see guys daily playing with what’s in their pocket but never once assume they are checking to see if they have a weapon. I use my knife to open the screen on my window. Sometimes my garden shed door gets stuck in summer due to wood swelling from day to day, so my knife helps me pry it open. If my grandchildren show up unexpectedly when I’m shopping in grocery store, I’ve used it to cut an apple for the baby in store while mom and I are talking/shopping. I always carry type of wet wipes that kill germs in my purse. I carry the wipes to wipe the handle of the shopping carts in shopping centers. If my grandchildren show up in the grocery store I know the baby always wants to eat the apples lol. So grandma can clean her pocket knife with the wipes. My knife is always in my pocket rather than my purse because I don’t always have my purse with me. My pockets are a fix to my clothes so it’s best to put my knife in pocket. At home I’m going in and out of my house, from the front, to the side to the back. A purse is not convenient to carry all day but pockets are a fix to my cloths. A knife is more convenient and handy in my pocket. For this prosecutor to make it sound like you are a killer or in tend to attack people because you carry a knife is ludicrous to say it mildly.

I was in the military, I was taught hand to hand combat, l carry my knife with and have since l was in the military, l was taught to push the blade in and up in order to do the MOST damage because you don't want the enemy coming after you after you leave. None of them did either. He did what he was taught to do ma'am and I am surprised more of them weren't dead. You haven't gotten the same training we got. So get over your garden tool crap.

This man is right he took out his knife but didn't want to brandish it to come off as threatening to them. I believe he thought they'd see it & back off. Had the group not been in his face & in a drunken frenzy they would have seen it & probably never would have started yelling perverted statements either. It's obvious English isn't his 1st language as he has a hard time finding the proper words & sometimes doesn't seem to understand the question. People who have had surgery on their heart are timid scared of someone or something hitting their surgery spot. They also tend to cry for unknown reasons too. I've seen the change so many times in men more than women after the surgery. He didn't have to retreat & people will freeze in that one spot when being attacked or after the attack bc it happened to me outside on my porch & I froze! I was always the neighbor watch kind of person & would go out to confront anyone trying to break into vehicles then phone the police & sometimes follow them in my car. I promised my family I wouldn't do it anymore as I'm in my 50's & weigh 100 pounds. The physical assault on my porch wasn't payback just a pervert who must have thought I was younger than I am so I'm much more careful now. I'll just call the police as they've told me please don't confront anyone not these days. I hope he's found not guilty their is enough blame to go around including who provided them the alcohol & weed! Had they not consumed alcohol the young man would still be alive & this man wouldn't be a defendant who had every right to defend himself. Had this happened on the street maybe he could have been saved @ the hospital. Alcohol thins you're blood making you bleed faster too.

But after watching everything, It was OBVIOUS the Defendant was harrassed and TERRORIZED by these Drunkin Teens!! And instead of the Adults being neutral, they should have calmed everything down and directed their Kids to stop harrassing the defendant, which I believe would have given the defendant ease and confidence that he would be able to do what he needed and return to his group. But the DRUNKEN Adults were just like the Teens and assisted in BULLYING the Defendant which ended up him BELIEVING he was threatened, and fearing for his life, from everyone approaching him! There was at least 13 People to one and these IDIOTS found out how WRONG they were! I Truly hope the Jury Exonerates the Defendant! This is sickening. After he kills a teen and slashes 4 others he makes a joke, ‘[how bad is it’s? He baited everyone. He went near the boys, after his group previously discussed staying away from young, drinking men. Who knows if he mentioned little girls to bait them. The video shows him running and lunging at the boys, grabbing their tubes, touching two of their legs. The teens were vulnerable laying in the tube, the others leapt up and all were startled and stated they were scared. Within 3 minutes Miu then checked to be sure he had his knife, repeatedly. He then hit Madison in front of angry men, knowing the universal culture of men is to defend a woman, so of course they would lash out. It was a bait so he could use is knife. Then he lies and deceives the police, investigators and then cries self defense. I’d charge him for intentional murder. What a narcissist.

Hell he actually did end up just running away before they even realized they were stabbed up. This is 0% self defense, he initiated the violence by hitting the girl first and he will be the one facing consequences for his actions to murder that kid and attempt to murder others. He stood there and smiled as be brandished his knife in anticipation of stabbing them. It's ridiculous people want this murderer to be the new face of self defense when that will just have negative consequences for everyone that wants to defend themselves legitimately. @@indirastone7382 the state added many new charges because they’re first-degree murder charge (which both sides argued on and the trial was about) was a loser. It’s outrageous. The defense requested for modifications in the juries instruction due to the the judge allowing so many new charges to be added, judge denied everyone of the defenses request. Judge not only gave state free range he told them how to argue these new added charges. Judge wants to make sure the defendant is charged and doesn’t get off on self-defense. He clearly showed his hand. He’s on the side of the state. I shouldn’t be surprised. Also the defendant would not have had $1 million bond and been in prison for two years if the lower charges had been applied in the beginning.

I feel like it's almost premeditated self defense. Miu stood his ground, knowing that he was armed. He did very little de deescalate the situation, waiting for an excuse to use violence. He seems fairly intelligent, and looked very calm and collected during the stabbing. It might be self defense technically, but I do believe he had ill intent to some extent. Edit: adding that i think the group of boys were acting obnoxious, and the young women were too quick to jump to conclusions. But I personally don't believe Miu was in any serious danger at any point. He should have left after he was pushed down, and called the police.

Why havent the prosecutors brought on charges of battery on a child? this is all nonsense and even further thats not even the fight that matters. He effectively walked away from that first fight, re-gaining his innocence. the fight that matters is the blonde coming up to him. thats the deadly encounter fight. She put hands on him first, not hit you understand but none the less, a simple battery. Nick can use non-deadly force to stop that, so he hits her. he admits to doing so. So the young men hit him in the face and pushed him in the water. IF they stopped there, its GG. the fights over. but no. they escaladed and effectively armed themselves with the water and rocks surrounding them and the amount of people there to inflict death or serious bodily harm. Sorry, but those are the facts. a reasonable, prudent person in the same position would have been in fear and would be privileged to use deadly defensive force. That is why they were worthy of getting stabbed.
