I completely missed the deadline this week, so Foden coming in as VC for a 40 pointer has absolutely saved my week - finished on 78 and feel dirty for it, but it also feels so good.

@@Ballerism if your captain definitely didn't play then Foden should have come in and got his 20 score doubled...only applies the score after the whole GW has resolved though, so have you checked (and/or refreshed) after last night's games?

That's the luckiest GW I've ever had in FPL. Between using FH in 34 and being way behind in my league, I decided to take the questionable gamble of not bringing Salah in. This was just the icing on the cake though. I captained Haaland. Him not coming for a 1 pointer on netted me 32 points for 99 total. I had Palmer VC for 20 and Garnacho off the bench for 14. I had a bad team this GW and I crushed everybody. Sometimes FPL is pure luck.

Yesterday he was very deep and didn’t look near as attacking as Diaz. Yes he is really in form though. I almost feel like selling Salah for Diaz after what I saw yesterday.

Hey Andy - I'm in same boat as you where I've actually got a pretty good team setup dead ending into DGW 34 already. With that said, what are the reasons for and against actually moving towards a Bench Boost 34 Dead End Team? I think one of the benefits here is that you might choose a more advantageous WC team in 35 not having to worry about the bench boost in 37. Thoughts?

Captain Pick Thoughts: Man Utd just shipped 4 goals and immediately face one of the greatest premier league attackers of all time this weekend. That’s a hard proposition to ignore, especially with his record against United. Most days Palmer surely only outscores him with 2 more penalties.

Captaincy option has to be salah, united have conceded the most shots since January 1st. Also have some key injuries like shaw, martinez, varane who subbed off at the half time break, his replacement (Evans) also got subbed off after 20 mins 😂

Top teams play easier against the lower teams when playing away because the lower teams at home play less defensive than playing away from home. Go with Salah or Palmer! Thanks again for the vid!

A red arrow with 65 poijts is crazy. The top players are smashing it right now. I was 45k now 200k because I sold my City players (Foden) as a liverpool fan. It was pissing me off being half happy when Foden got a return😂

I dont think Tsimikas will play, but there is a chance of Gomes playing RB (more defensive and can drop into midfield for coverage) instead of Bradley and Robbo playing LB. I will nevertheless start Bradley for the offensive possibilities just in case! I will captain Salah for sure - he loves to play against Man Utd.

I got 55 points, that final game saved me. 34 points from Palmer and Garnacho combined (plus 8 from Isak earlier on). What was mental this week was that I had 7 PLAYERS on 0 points! Bell (injured), Gordon (red card suspension), but then no minutes from Haaland, Saka and Kiwior, plus Bradley and Gusto both getting 0 points due to OG + Yellow card + Goals conceded. And to top it all off, Salah captain on 1 point off in 59th minute. So glad I brought in Garnacho in GW30, almost transferred him out this week!

Palmer, Foden and Salah have absolutely destroyed me. Dropped from 53k to 311k in 4 weeks and now second in mini league after being over 100 points up. Still got all chips apart from TC so keeping the faith but man this was brutal

Currently Maddison, Son, Salah, Díaz, Saka. Had the likes of Bowen and Gordon during that period too. Mostly was to save FH for 34 but painfully opted for Diaz instead of Palmer this week just gone because I couldn’t resist Sheff Utd at home

@@slatttery18 Gordon has been very consistent this season, especially at home, so I'm sure he's been ticking you over well enough. Even Bowen has been consistent either side of Paqueta's injury. But yeah, no Palmer for that whole time must have been a killer. 4 double digit returns in his last 6 games fgs. Think Foden had something similar too. I was tempted to save FH for 34, but my team was in good shape after the big blank week, so I used it then. Similar to Andy, I'll have 10/11 players for 34 just with free transfer. Are you WC 35/36?

Don't lose heart, guys. From the sounds of the comments, an awful lot of managers got @rsehole lucky this week and had players like Foden and Garnacho auto subbing off their benches - big gains made from little to no tactical foresight and a lot of luck. Just keep making sensible decisions and hope they pay off longer term

For captaincy… SHU concede 28 points a game to midfielders when at home. Cold Palmer will get 14+ if that’s the case again. MUN concede 18.5 a game to midfielders. With Diaz, Mac Allister and Salah, I’m guessing Salah is around the 5-7 mark if that’s the case. NFO concede 23.8 points to MIDs and 6.5 to FWDs so Son probably looking at 11+ with Maddi, Werner, Johnson on the pitch. CRY only concede 5.3 points a game at home to FWDs. Not sure id even consider Haaland. For me, it’s Palmer with the wealth of points that SHU give up to oppo and how few mouths there are to feed in Chelsea.

It depended on the order you had them on the bench. If other players were ahead of Sarabia on your bench, they would have auto-subbed on before him
