Unfunny Defibrillator fun facts! -Many buildings & public venues have an AED case mounted on a wall somewhere. *It's a defibrillator that anyone can use* ; as soon as you turn it on, it'll play recorded instructions. The shock pads are sticky, so you can keep on thumpin' (except during heart rhythm analysis, but the AED will tell you). AED = Automated External Defibrillator. -You can (and should) start chest compressions before looking for an AED, though. Ideally, yell for someone else to call for help and go find the AED while you work. -The bit about yelling "CLEAR" before every shock is accurate and super important. Your knees should be touching the patient while you perform CPR. Be sure you back all the way off, or the shock can heck you all the way up. (Likewise, if you have the AED, be aware that some folks won't want to break contact with the patient; make sure they do before pushing the shock button.) -Current CPR guidelines don't require mouth-to-mouth. The main event is forcing the patient's blood to keep circulating. You can get your own pocket mask/barrier for rescue breathing if you want to, or even a Bag Valve Mask, which lets you push air into the lungs without putting your mouth on anybody. 2 breaths to every 30 compressions. 100-120 Beats Per Minute. -If you can talk or do anything else while performing CPR, then you probably need to CPR harder. Never stop bopping longer than 20 seconds. -Don't feel for a pulse with your thumb. Thumbs are liars. (i.e. you might feel your own thumb's pulse & do a Big Oops™) -Not every heart rhythm is shockable. You may end up slamming that sternum until the ambulance arrives. Keep your hands within the nipple zone.

Unfunny Defibrillator fun facts! PART DUEX! -Sometimes the AED will advise a shock even if the person is awake and talking to you. It is at this point (at least what i've done when it happens) is tell the person to lay down and grin your teeth. -When using a AED on a baby you put on pad on the chest and one on the back. If they AED had a child key, use it. If not look for a set of child pad, they will have a box connected to them to reduce the shock. -Placement of the pad on a adult is not vital so long as the pad cross the heart. -When it comes to CPR PUSH HARD AND DEEP!!!! if you have never preformed CPR before you will be scared to hear the sternum break, this is normal and fine. This means your compressions are effective.

@jackbright2125

Everyone telling you to break their ribs is wrong. Source, licensed EMT. My CPR teacher told me that if I broke anyone's ribs they'd come kick my ass. EMT course told me that you definitely shouldn't break their goddamn ribs. You also shouldn't *break* the sternum. You will often, however, *dislodge* the sternum, which is not the same as breaking ribs. The sternum is held in place by cartilage, and under the force CPR requires it will often be popped free. If you crack a rib, you're shoving in the wrong spot, and you're doing it wrong. Broken ribs can puncture internal organs. This is a very bad thing. This can be avoided with proper hand placement and technique. That being said, if you do dislocate the sternum, just keep shoving anyway. People can recover from a dislocated sternum, they usually can't recover from being dead. It is also possible to shove *too* hard, but it's pretty difficult. You really have to slam your entire body weight down to do that. Other thing to note, it's very strenuous to do CPR for long.

Only a select few people can actually pull this off. The criteria is as follows: 1: You have to be among the top 10% of all gamers 2: You have to pretend you know what you're doing when you actually don't 3: You have to casually not give a fuck 4: Your patient has to either be dead, or in a near-death state, such as in a coma.

@CookedMeat
@CookedMeat 2 жыл бұрын
@@alphagiga4878 This is an interesting statement because it shows how death is portrayed among different games. For example, in more extreme cases like Fire Emblem, Skyrim and Fallout, a dead character means it is completely perished from the game. In Dragon Quest, you can at least drag your teammate's coffin to church for revival. Meanwhile children friendly games like Pokemon etc, a character is simply knocked out. And then there's Chinese PUBG rip off, where upon death, the charater bows politely and leave a chest containing its inventory before vanishing into thin air. (This is among the funniest example of censoring game violence)

Interestingly, ventricular tachycardia is one of the shockable rhythms so that would actually work well. However, flatlining or asystole is not a shockable rhythm even though TV and movies love to use it for dramatic effect. Instead you would administer epinephrine every 3-5 min and start CPR while running a troubleshooting checklist of underlying problems.
