Fractals ZERO to HERO in no time #guildwars2

When researching for ways on how to consistently make gold in Guild Wars 2, regardless of the expansion, one recommendation has always been to do Daily Tier 4 Fractals. Sometimes to even do the Recommended, or the Challenge Motes (CM), if you're up for it.
The problem with this advice is that it doesn't help out anyone who has never set foot in Fractals before, doesn't have the gear, or doesn't know how to increase their Agony Resistance.
In this video I'll take you on the path I took to go from absolute Zero, to somewhat of a Hero. By the end of the video you'll at least be able to run any Tier 1 Fractals (level 1-25), and with some work, you can get all the way up to, and including Tier 3 (level 51-75), with minimal effort.
By the time you get used to running the different Tiers, you'll have acquired those missing pieces that will let you run any Tier 4 Fractal as well, and you'll know how to actually complete each of them.
I don't recommend skipping Tiers 1, 2, and 3, even though you could get your rewards faster. Because by doing so, you miss out on the most important part: acquiring experience.
We end the guide with some tips and tricks, some ways to save gold along the way, and some advice I wish I knew when starting out.

One thing that is _really_ important of you plan on going into T1 fractals as a newbie is please _talk_ to people. Too often, I've seen half a party on T1 just stand around with clearly no idea what to do, but no one ever asked a single question, most don't even read party chat and just do nonsense stuff until the single person that actually _does_ know what to do gets fed up and leaves. When I'm in a T1 party, I'll gladly explain whatever people want to know, but please say something, ask questions and read the chat. Most fractals have a couple of mechanics you just need to learn, most are really easy but you still need to pay attention.

In my experience people are usually nice and helpful in fractals. Strikes that's where the snobism is at.

I have indeed never had a real bad experience in fractals. At worst someone leaves, but that's usually quickly resolved.

Enjoy the ride! I've met some truly awesome people while pugging, and the game mode is very rewarding. By the time you get used to fractals (assuming you like them, of course), you might notice that the Legendary Backpack is actually rather easy to obtain.

1:30 yeah classic gw2 etilists, but i got to say its not as bad in fractals, people will help you out unless you try to sneak into a challenge mode or level 100. raids are much much worse (and dead now anyway lol). to level up your fractal level doing t3 is quicker and easy though, while only losing out on 25% of the rewards, so i would do it via that route.

Could you give some advice for a total fractal beginner please: can I use my full celestial revenant here and be useful ?😅 I like renegade the most but the other 2 are almost as awesome too❤

It's quite handy and you definitely can use it at the start, but most likely you would need to change some pieces down the line for placing yourself in a specific role AND optimize runs for bigger profit per hour. So don't be scared and try stuff :)

Actually, yes. You will be less effective than a fully specialised build, but that really is not that big of an issue in the lower tiers. Especially not if starting out in T1. While power DPS is king in lower tiers, you'll do fine as condi. On top of that, rev only needs 40-45% boon duration for either quickness Herald or Alacrity Renegade. So you could even cover these roles. You could technically heal too with celestial stats, but I must advise against this for new(er) players to fractals, as this also increases the burden on your team to play perfect.

as vindi main my self i say yes you can use your cele equipment in entry level fractal because thats what i used back then,but my suggestion is start with your most comfortable class with and as you climb your fractal level,start to work on your gear and look up for fractal build set up for your prefer class to reach your maximum potential while you are doing fractal,later on when you can fully gear up being able to paly all the 3 classes is event better since you can swap and fill what your group lacking ( P.S boon DPS herald with greatsword is hot stuff right now play it before it got nerf LMAO)im just joking. lastly,dont be afraid to ask question especially when there is a experience player in your group,pay attention on what your group doing because most of the time people dont realize that they are the "weakest link" by blindly hitting the boss but ignoring mechanic,most importanly just have FUN!! in the end it just the game,yes im not gonna lie sugar coat it theres gonna be a time when you encounter toxic people,but i dare say unless you fckup so bad its super rare in fractal to met total jerk,people usually just left the group.

Thank you all! I guess I’m gonna try it now, starting from 0 or 1😅 if Cele is fine for a while🤞😇 I’m not really a new player, but i‘m afraid of all instanced pve contend😵‍💫

So the t2 3 and 4 LFG is locked until your personal level reaches those tiers. So there's no way to skip unless you run with guilds or friends. I'm working on that grind on my Z2H and let me tell you, I sure miss my omnipot, singularity mastery, and fractal god.

Oh God, I can only imagine. I've grown so used to them. I am a fan of the requirements to step foot into T2/3/4, though. GL on the Z2H, trying to keep up with the episodes whenever I have the time :)

Does the set affect the boons of the party? My main is a reaper and I don't think it has alacrity or any boons to give...

Reaper won't be able to give either Alacrity or Quickness, but is one of the better DPS specs to do well in fractals. So you won't have to worry about boon duration on your gear. If you want to eventually expand your roles, you could try Alacrity DPS or Heal Scourge, or Quickness DPS Harbinger. For those I would recommend a set with appropriate amounts of boon duration though (ritualist's gear). As I mentioned, Reaper is a great starting point, though, so there's no need to worry about other specs and gear just yet.

@@phandrel yeah I'm still working on my gears for my reaper right now. I'm just worried that I picked (berserker) the wrong stats for facts.

@@Cashcash08 Berserker is ideal! That's your best power set for Fractals, Raids, and Strikes! Reaper is tanky enough to also not need more HP/Toughness in the open world, so you basically got your ideal first stat combo.

Is it possible to reach enough AR for T4 on a core account? (Cant add more slots to rings)

You could always use infusions higher than +9, but they do get rather expensive. Are you sure you can't attune/infuse your rings? You might need the Fractal Attunement: Agony Channeler mastery, as that unlocks certain items from the vendor.

@@phandrel Tyvm for the reply. Mastery is locked by Expansion as far as i could tell anyway. I might play a little more fractals, can update the post if it turns out to be possible to buy the materials needed.

i did fractals after i finished the story, so i did it right away but the devs have implemented agony which would be better to take that off the game cuz new players dont enjoy it at all. i wont come bak to guild wars 2 until they implement a system that helps you get the items you are looking for like quests instead of putting everything in achivment. help new players where to go and do to get the items so they dont quit right away. If they do implement that then alot more people will stay whit guild wars 2 forever. I think the devs lisen to much on streamers then regular people.

I actually don't mind Agony Resistance, but would love for it be something account bound that you level up by playing instead of the current system. I fear it's too late to implement such a thing now though. As for the achievements/quest line, totally agree. This is probably one of the things that contribute the most to new players not knowing what to do.
