You can right click and choose stats for nerds in the menu. I'm pretty sure this function existed already in december 2013.

It could also be 15fps Also if you upload a 60fps video, it gives you the option between 60 and 30fps

The problem with your experiment is that one video can only contain one framerate. The highest framerate you used was 60fps, so I'll assume you rendered the final .avi file on 60fps. Framerates of 24, 25, 48 and 50fps can't divide 60 to an integer number, thus, the frames will either blend with each other or be cut out to fit in the 60 frames second. KZfaq's recommended upload encoding settings (support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en) mentions 24, 25, 30, 48, 50 and 60fps, but also states that it can accept other framerates. So here I have some tips to do this experiment, even if it's not needed: Don't use flash animation, use any other software directed for video editing, it could be After Effects or Vegas. Render every framerate to test into different files, with the respective framerates, and upload them separately. I think this experiment is useless nowadays. I might be wrong but I think KZfaq uses an HTML5 player now (it can run before you install a flash player) and the playback framerate really just depends on your internet speed and computer speed. And yes, I know this video is now almost 4 years old.

I actually did upload separate files with the real experiment. The video I linked to was essentially all of them linked together using the youtube video editor. I kind of hoped that they would somehow just stitch together and everything would magically work out, which sounds like wishful thinking in hindsight. And can confirm, youtube can do 50fps and 60fps today with its HTML5 player.

Although you did upload them separadely, the final video is still going to have only one framerate (the highest, maybe). One video file can't have more than one framerate, so even if KZfaq merged all of the videos into one, it still has 60fps and ignores the others. It re-renders the final video, ignoring unmatching framerates and working around it. Anyway, good thing you thought about that experiment in the first place.

The results will vary based on the hardware of the testing device. More power usually means higher fps.

Ivan Koblik Check the rate at which electric current is delivered to your residence. In the US, we have 60hz delivery and that will typically will be the upper bound of screen FPS(60) refresh rate. In some parts of Europe the delivery is at 50hz, so the upper bound is typically 50FPS.

True, I hadn't thought too much about the hardware. I had just assumed it would be fast enough to catch every frame. To be honest, I was pretty loose with judging the results since none of them were too conclusive. The software I used didn't make things too perfect either. I hope I might encourage further experimentation.
