This is the way i build many framed staple variants, its a fantastic way to prep and a game changer if you build production doing long sticks at high speeds!

Nice technique with the staple floating in the frames. I've built enough that I don't usually have problems with my stacks, but I think your method would eliminate the problem of having the occasional ribbon flipping because it's at a different tension from the rest. I'll try this.

Beautiful coils! Just starting off building. Have been making fairly nice aliens and the next build I want to try is the framed staple so this video is such a great help. Really appreciate the time your putting in to making your videos. Now where the hell is the mailman with my ribbon wire!!!!!!!!

This is a really smart idea. I ised hot glue and did this trick for the swivel end but never thought to use it on the drill end. I just had a framed staple have one of the ribbons come out and flip (the rest were ok but still annoying) and this would have prevented that.

this floating staples technique is eally dope. zero danger getting the stack damaged. i follow the same principle, but i loop the staple tthough the swiwels. Someone can try fusing with 42-46 awg for a better result, with less pressure on the fuse wire. for 44awg and 46+ awg fuse wire, i would reccomend a least a 1500rpm drill, since fusing takes way too long. i really liked the light trick because you only get the perfect fuse if the reflection of the light onto the build at its most intensity.

Having trouble with alien wraps. Hoping to see your technique and learn a few pointers.
@melody37413 жыл бұрын
Im sure you mastered them by now but just make a bunch of decores like 6 of them 12 inches long and do a bunch of short 6 inch lengths of 3 cores and alien wrap them varying your stretch tension and lead angle every time and eventually you will get a feel for it. I could for instance tell you that for a 12 ply framed staple you decore from a 22g, stretch to 90 degree angles, and lead by 12ish degrees with pretty hard pressure, but if you have the feel and understanding of how it works by learning it yourself you will be able to apply it to other builds.

Rambo please do a video on SSFC. I am having a hard time with them. Normal framed staples are much easier for and I can do them fairly well. Thanks!
@robinsonrom4 жыл бұрын
something about this video really brought me back to the days of watching Squiddoode's videos. I typically use a jewelers vice for framed staples, what advantages do you think floating the ribbon has over this, since I think I've seen you use one in some of your other videos?
@ohmimprovement57674 жыл бұрын
Rob Robinson you may have seen me with Ohmboy Josh during the Coil Wars days, or my old channel I used to record and edit with my phone and produce crappy videos lol.
@ohmimprovement57674 жыл бұрын
The benefits of floating the ribbon are during the fuse process your build is centered perfectly and no big risk of crunching your ribbon.

I’m not sure I completely understand? I should do a live video? If that’s what you mean, I’ve been shopping around for capture cards to allow my dslr to be used as a webcam so I can stream. But this is all adding up quick financially! I didn’t even own a computer before I decided to launch the channel lol. Nor did I(well I still really don’t) know how to use a computer lol. But I’m working on it, I’ll have a capture card after the holidays and try to stream live at least once a week.
@klaytonvonkluge49054 жыл бұрын
@@ohmimprovement5767 yeah, that is what I meant, and yeah, I feel ya, because I've been looking into streaming and doing odd shows too, but you (anyone) should only do whatever is financially viable, it's incredible how these costs start mounting! I didn't know that about having to have a card! I ordered some stuff myself, because some of my team do "live streams" also , and I was wanting to take part or try some too... Sheesh, now I gotta order MORE stuff? Lol, all I wanted to do was quit smoking , once upon a time 😆 But yeah, cool man! Glad you're back doing build tutes, and gonna do some live stuff too! Sorry for the short story
