I like your tutorials man. I never got into serious coil building all these years but lately I have been checking out some of the things people build and I gotta say, yours are (so far) the only videos out of 4 different channels that are tolerable. You're fairly accurate, don't throw in a lot of nonsense filler or tangents, try to talk at a level someone who might not know all the terms can understand, nothing obnoxious on the screen or deafening music. Good video shots showing what you're talking about (it's one thing that some of these guys spend more time rambling than giving incoherent sentences, another that they never show actual pictures or footage). Love that you identify tools and where you got them, shortfalls to look out for. So I was watching a staggered video and it was the old school two line and unwind method. I was thinking sort of like your clamp method but getting models with replaceable nylon blocks and hand making coil paths by twisting a path then heating the wire and clamping just enough to create an impression in the nylon. The downside is being limited to near sizes and that particular coil path, but the potential upside would be essentially instant setup. And for things like staggered then you're not creating a spacer coil or the loop to space method (where you chase the wrap with a loop for the gap you want and tension it with your hands).

Something I have considered looking into is a planetary setup like how rope is braided, but for micro spools (you'd have to down spool wire unfortunately) to keep the footprint small. See if something like a 12 or 16 strand hollow core coil is possible.

People would be shocked at the amount of time and effort quality videos take. I wish I stuck with it but I started making them too late in the game unfortunately. I appreciate the kind words 👊♥️

I think the way this is prepped, you would have trouble with the rest of the core. As for the staggered prep, I I to make 20' lengths like this for sfc prep, back when I did production building.

This is my favorite dual coil RDA. This is a great video. I don't care for the drip tip either but I usually don't give them a chance anyways. My favorite way to use this RDA is with a Cloud Cap. My builds are way too warm on mech mods. The cloud caps open up the airflow slightly and they just give a different look and draw style.

@@ohmimprovement5767 grand tutorial dont think theres anyone that has given such in depth explanations about why this works over another method. the copper wire close up is something people should take from this. its actually what should have been done from day one, don't zoom it, blow it up to a visually understandable size, because in practice the zoom aspect in a tutorial messes with a build if you are learning

It doesnt matter if u cut or fold the staggered frames, the staggered clapton will always lean the same way.. U could spin or flip one frame and it will still line up as long as the spacing is perfect..
@ohmimprovement5767
@ohmimprovement5767 3 жыл бұрын
Have you ever made pitchforks before? The stagger does lean one direction, a d if you flip the frame opposite of the direction the other is, it will lean the opposite way. Which is why we have to actually flip the frames for pitchforks. I'll be covering them on the channel soon, and showing up close photos again to show how the stagger leans and why its important to understand that when it comes to forks.
@DanB1987
@DanB1987 3 жыл бұрын
@@ohmimprovement5767 yea i have and i just make a longer frame, cut it in half and flip it, and all the fuses line up pretty damn good.. Im not telling you u do this wrong just explaining that it dont matter wether u flip the frames or cut and slide them up keeping them the same orientation or even fold it.. For my simple dual core sfc i just fold it through the swivel (no ribbon involved i know, but same concept..) i just dont fuse the last inch because it bunches the stag up.. My point is if you do a 10inch ribbon stack and spaced clapton the whole thing, then cut it in half, it wont matter which way u put the cut off half because u claptoned the whole stick the same way, u flip it it will still have the same bottom left up to top right (example) pattern.. ////////// flipped or rolled is stil //////////
