@sal5493 - I have a '99 E39 528i and I can verify that these retrofit frameless blades do fit. The hardest part of this retrofit is taking out the old hardware. The replacement brackets simply snap in place - so easy my wife can do it! Added bonus - the "Rain-X" style frameless wiper blades that come with this kit do a much better job of keeping the windshield clear, especially in heavy rain.

Cool, all this time I never knew they made flat blades for the e39. I think you should take the wiper arms off & paint the flat black before installing the blades tho. It would look better. I'm gonna get on this now.

And what for? Without spoilers they won't touch the windscreen when you go over 100km/h, not to mention slight possibility of them falling off the mounts and destroying windshield. Way to go.

The general idea of beam wipers is that the back of the blade is profiled to act as a spoiler. Your second point I completely agree. They're very likely to fall off.

I made the same mistake as the tutorial guy in this video and took off the training guides it’s leaves a hole in the middle of the washer arm also the steel band is hanging now I’ll have to glue it back

For me on the passenger side they keep breaking or falling off, not sure why, maybe it is because of age and the old brackets are too loose for these.
