These old Pans still well-capable of any journey, great bikes, just perfect for relaxed long distance touring, even now at over 20 years old. Love 'em 👍

I agree. I'm 62 years old and on my trip to France it was like riding a armchair. So comfy and relaxing.

firstly thank you for allowing us to see your journey.........please if possible could you show your route and the town/camp site from day one .....thank you Phil
@ayorkiepetrolhead25715 ай бұрын
Hi Phil. Day ones campsite is a big favourite of mine. It's called camping du Chateau and it's in a town called Eymet in the Dordoigne. If you leave Roscoff ferry port and programme your sat nav to there but have it set to avoid tolls you will take the same route. Failing that I can send you a gpx file of the route to your email address. Regards Tony

Very well. I recently acquired a Yamaha fjr1300 es and took it on my trip to France and Spain, however I think I was more comfortable on the Pan last year. So the Fjr is up for sale.

What a great video! Im definatly going to watch the other episodes too. Im riding an identical ST since two months and i love it. If i may ask, what phone holder are you using/recommending and how od you secure it properly? Ive seen another good looking phone holder on your "France Day 2" video too. I tried one with a clipping mechanism on the plastic dash board but it wasnt holding up well. Ive been struggeling to find something appropriate... Ram mounts are kinda expensive so im looking for another solution. Thanks in advance. Wishing you safe rides!

There are long arms and short arms for the ram system, have you tried the longer one?

Hello Yorkie. I've vey interested in the GPS Support, model, how it fit, screws, velcro? I'm the proud owner of an ST1100 1.998, and, buf!, it's a pain in ass how to fit the electronics devices...in 1.998 all was more easy, no electronic devices in our lives :D. Thanks in advance, be careful in the roads and sorry for my english, i'm from Spain.
@ayorkiepetrolhead25716 ай бұрын
Hi. I have a shelf made by a UK company. That I use Ram mounts to then install the sat nav.

Hi, am I seeing things or has your blue st1100 changed into a red one?
@ayorkiepetrolhead257110 ай бұрын
Haha. No your not seeing things. I bought a cheapish pan, realised how good they were and looked around for a minter. Found the red one and then sold the blue. 😳My wife says I'm nuts. She may be right.

I’m thinking off buying a pan European and I’m 66. What do you thing ?
@ayorkiepetrolhead25715 ай бұрын
Hi, I'm 62 and have no problem. However I'm 6ft tall and pretty heavy. I would say if your reasonably healthy and strong you'll be fine. If you haven't already, try and find one for sale that you can sit on and try it for weight and size. Have to say once on the move the weight dissapears.

@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 Thanks buddy I think I will go for it. I retire in August so will do a lot off touring. Oh and I’m as fit as a butchers dog.

If you're 6ft and fit, buy one. I'm 5ft 9in and I bought one last August to go down to Faro in October. I'm a bit short and not as strong as I used to be, I'm 66 now! I dropped the bike in Bilbao trying to do a u turn. No way I could pick it up on my own. Two Spanish lads helped me! On the move it's fantastic. On the way back I did France in a day and a half to Dieppe and I could still walk! 55 mpg staying off the toll roads. I'd like to know what camera you're using?
@ayorkiepetrolhead25715 ай бұрын
@@BacktorealityUK hi. The camera is a helmet mount ghost drift xl, with an in helmet microphone. Good value and battery life is 8hours plus.
