I remember this game. Here in the US the game had been over by the time we got out of high school. We got out and I immediately went home to look up the final score. As I went home a couple of people told me France had lost 0-1. I thought to myself, they must not have watched the full game or something. I got home and realized they were telling the truth lol! It was one of the biggest upsets in Football history. Senegal 🇸🇳 had a great team!

J’avais un an lors de ce match 😭 mais là en suivant le match c’était comme si j’étais présente j’ai pour habitude de le regarder encore et encore et j’ai suivi un documentaire sur ça montrant le manque de considération qu’avaient les français de ce match ils ne s’étaient même pas entraîner en faite. Came here to cherish my past days..That time i was 7 years old kid, i do remember everything,, that was my 1st world cup that i had been experienced . I am from Bangladesh but in that match without reason i supported Senegal. but i like France also.They are running world champion that time, i watched this match in Black & white telivision, so jersey color seemed similar to my eyes. Bruno Metsu was the coach for this team he really created strong team. that also was Senegal first time qualifying for the world cup and they had an amazing run. He was not just coach for them, but also as big brother he treat them as if they were a family. But sadly Bruno Metsu died in 2013 may he Rest In Peace.

I am an American of African descent. That Senegal team had swagger at that time. Scoring 14 goals and only conceding 2 in the African World Cup 2002 Qualifying! They were strong on both sides of the ball. Just think what could have been, a USA vs Senegal 🇺🇸 🇸🇳 World Cup Final match that year! If you look at the whole tournament and how it played out, you would understand what I'm saying!!:)

La France avait beaucoup d'occasion, c'était remarquable. Les attaquants, trezegué, et tous ceux qui sont à l'avant pouvaient marqué des dizaines de but.
