The only thing it proves is : that a good goalie keeps the eye on the ball ; instead of anticipating on the movement of players. Had she done the first : she wouldve picked that first free kick up easy it was straight at her

Much better match play by the USA Today after looking flat against Spain. Thank goodness no odd penalty kick calls in this one!! I’d like to see the 3rd USA goal one more time. I wasn’t sure if that was actually an offside or not... France played well in this tournament and I for one salute the efforts today. I thought the spark of getting a goal might push them to an equalizer but the US defense was up to the challenge today. Cheers!

On first Rapinoe's goal, don't forget Ertz's big effort to "avoid" the ball, lol. Because of her air swinging kick, all France defenders in front of the net were disoriented and let the ball go through their legs and masked their own goalie until last second which resulted into the goal.

Moamoa35 well if they didn’t rule out USA’s third goal that should’ve counted, France would still be behind USA’s lead. So there wasn’t any guarantee that France “could’ve won” or even tied especially since we don’t know if they would definitely score with the PK, if it were given. If they got a penalty and scored, they’d still be behind by a goal. If they got a penalty kick but didn’t score, they’d be behind by 2 goals. France played very well, just not enough to break USA defense. I mean, they could hardly win against Norway and Nigeria 💁🏻♀️

@@misterthedarkknight Le football est un sport, il est praticable par tout le monde, hommes, femmes et enfants. Et ton raisonnement est contre productif, si justement elles n'ont pas l'étoile c'est clairement une question de moyens, d'infrastructures etc... Donc au lieu de rabaisser les femmes, ce qui est clairement ton objectif avec ton commentaire, il vaut mieux encourager le sport pratiquer par les femmes de manière général.

They had more possession but did NOT capitalize on that. France was shut down by the US defense, midfield. The accuracy of france's shots were MIA. More possession does NOT mean better. Crystal Dunn was a rock star in her defense. Great game!!

Nunya made a point that because USA scored two goals early, it made France press harder than the US, that's why France had more possession, US just played defense instead
