I prefer Lyon because it's smaller and less hectic than Paris. I try to go in early December for the Festival of Lights and in June when the weather is perfect. I still haven't been to Nice yet but I think I would enjoy being near the coast too. I trained at Le Cordon Bleu so Lyon is like mecca for a chef like me. Did you have a favorite food on the tour?

My French husband says Lyon is bof and only good thing is the food so good tour! I lived in France and have traveled a lot, but I've never been to Lyon...Looks nice to me! I lived in Paris, Bordeaux and Aix-en-Provence and love to visit, but will never live there again! For travel it's great, but not to live...In my opinion!

@@tamaramadelin4831 I think it all depends on your priorities in life. If you want to make money the USA is the place. If you are looking for a country with diversified regions and and easy access to other great European nations then Europe is the place but you won't make the kind of money that you can make in the USA. I have lived in France for 47 years. Came over when I was 23 and married a Frenchwoman that I met elsewhere. if she had been from another country, I would have moved there so I was never living in ecstasy of France and never really had a wow moment except when I saw the Alps for the first time, being from the east coast of the USA with ties to Southern Florida west of I95 or what they call god's little waiting ground. My first marriage lasted 10 years and then was single for 14 years and have been married to an American woman now for 22 years. I have always worked for myself here as after I became fluent in French after 6 months of 10 hour days studying the language. I knew I would never work for anyone in this country. Doesn't pay and work mentality is different. France is a facade and when you actually experience the day to day living, the slowness of the bureaucracy, the difficulty as a foreigner to make friends or see the lack of exuberance then you realize that the fantasy of France is just that....a fantasy. Unfortunately many things in France are crumbling, the health system, law and order, incessant strikes which can screw up your plans and that damn crappy weather here in Paris and so on. It is not what it was when I arrived in 77 except for the weather in Paris. A demanding foreigner can not live in France nor can someone who is obsessive for things to be done correctly..But things do get done just often much longer. I would say I enjoy living here. I'm not head over heels about it but for the person I am it is pleasant for me and we travel a lot outside of the country and as a free lancer I go where I want when I want. And also as an American if you know how to finesse your way around the problems, be they administrative or other they like to believe that THEY are helping you out as a poor American immigrant (and I still only carry an American passport) The young French of today are more travelled and aware of the world and open than their elders when I arrived here. Most people had never taken an airplane in 1977. Et voilà 😂

@@kjandtonylovefrance true when I was married to a French girl her father (RIP) was from La Dordogne (Lanouaille exactly) and when he was growing up in the 1930s he explained that every day at lunch in school the kids had wine. Very intelligent these Frenchies because they created a generation in the countryside of alcoholics. I don't mean stumbling drunk like the Brits but as adults would but down a bottle or two a day. Not too smart!

Agreed! But there are some advantages. In particular, it seems to be less expensive to find a place to live in Lyon. But you're right, Paris is Paris!!

How much time they send in France is up to them. To spend more than 3 months, you still need a visa. If you stay more than 180 days, or something like that, there are tax implications. Moving countries is a process. They’re enjoying their lives. That’s very cool. Whatever they call it, it’s up to them. I’m only in the planning process, and caught between France and Portugal.

The name has been a struggle ever since we came back from our move to France and we'll probably change it again eventually. We just purchased our house in Vero Beach, so that is currently our home base yet we do love France and plan to explore more of it. The goal when we named the channed was to ultimately purchase a place in France to make it easier to go back and forth. But there are so many beautiful places to see, we are now not sure if we even want to do that. We may actually go to Spain in June instead of France. So, yes we are not moving to France permanently and yes, we need to eventually change the name. Thank you for watching. We appreciate your observations and feedback.

Thank you for your kind concern. We are both doing great. This video was filmed the day after we arrived, after only one night sleep after not sleeping for 40 hours. It was also pouring out at times during this video and the coldest day we encountered in Lyon. We both wound up sick the day after filming this video. So, yes we were physically struggling in this video because of the lack of appropriate sleep and the weather conditions. As for any difficulty which you detected in Tony walking was only due to the cobblestones. They can be tricky to navigate sometimes. Other than that, he does not struggle to walk. We have both recovered from the colds we caught and are doing great. I'm sorry it was not an enjoyable video for you. It wasn't that the video was not enjoyable. that was not my concern. I am highly intuitive, and I could pick up a tremendous amount of negative energy around both of you, which was the impetus for my inquiry I'm relieved to hear that what I was feeling has come and gone and that you are both well.
