Such a sincere question, and the questioner is so honest with himself and thus with Francis. I remember Francis saying during one of the retreats that the type of a question and the question itself leads to the type of an answer and the answer itself 🙏

Yeah, I loved the sincerity and the confusion of the questioner... He was a hard nut to crack and I'm certain he will vascillate between what he believes and what his direct experience is for some time to come. But as Francis says "It will haunt you". It does. Reality, once tasted, cannot be ignored because the joy of natural being is so much more than anything the imagination can devise. Like Rupert Spira, it haunted me for nearly thirty years, but eventually that smoldering ember will erupt into a blazing conflagration of Truth. Actually , that's a bit of a dramatic metaphor, awakening can be a very quiet process rather than some explosive event and is probably more sustainable that way. But both ways are valid. Whatever your experience is, is the way for you.

@@glynemartin That's why I checked him out. Rupert is very eloquent and his parable of the screen is great, but Francis is making it simple, he sticks to the direct experience here and now at its rawest. A treat for the confused mind.

@@davidhollyfield5148 Yes, the questioner is so sincere, persevering and genuinely interested. As I perceived it, he was initially stuck believing that consciousness is an object - but he did really get it, thanks to both Francis and himself. A pleasure to watch!

Oh goodness this is very very powerful. Much powerful than any other videos of my master. I think it is often very difficult to comprehend this immense freedom that comes from the direct contact with consciousness therefore there is a sudden contraction in the body and we immediately feel limited. But the freedom has always been there right beneath whenever we like to dive into it. Thank you master.❤️

I came across this type of discussion long time ago, and it took me a while to get the handle of it because one lives so involved and identified with your life that it spills over unto other situations, ways of thinking, etc. What I have learned over the years about this topic that is helpful on an everyday basis is not to get caught up in the drama, that is, the movie on the screen. And that has helped me keep my blood pressure down while feeling more centered and at ease with what happens. So far so good!

How do I know I am aware? or Is it possible to be unaware? - superb questions to ponder on. When I ask either of these questions and meditate on them - it feels that there is a deep searching going on that 'I' seem to be aware of. Perception IS synonymous with awareness in the broadest sense. To be aware of anything in the external world the object have to be perceived, to be aware of thoughts they have to be perceived and for us to be aware that we are aware this has to be perceived or recognised.

Yes. But sadly we are conditioned to understand everything as a subject/object dichotomy with us as the subject. Every message our culture gives us reinforces this false understanding. The firmer our belief in so-called 'objective reality' the harder it is to trust that we are not an object seperate from everything else. Something as nebulous as consciousness (until experienced) cannot be grasped by the objectifying mind.

There is one unlimited consciousness. How can we live as this consciousness and not as the finite mind?
@atmannityananda-academia6 жыл бұрын
Michael Danielson by connecting consciously with the inner silent space of awareness and by eliminating the egoic self, (ego or I), ie. pride, fear, lust, greed, arrogance, envy, anger, .... Moment to moment disidentifying from the egoic structures and the ego itself and identifying with the silent space within! The main thing is how much you want freedom and truth.

Thank you, so being aware and not identifying is the best practice?
@atmannityananda-academia6 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is the core of spirituality. We must find out ways, to do this skillfully. We must learn and practice to deepen in Self-awareness by meditation and self-enquiry, and find ways to dettach from thoughts, emotions, impulses, desires, the body and the ego itself etc,. and lerarn methods to dissolve gradually the egoic tendencies. Eagerness, Sincerity, patience, preseverence , self'confidense, tenacity, determination, devotion, simplicity, sommon sense and diligent constant practice are the recipe of success in this endevour

I must comment to undo the big mistake which most of the seekers Do ON attaining a certain stage of UNDERDTSNDING OF THE TRUTH same mistake is being done here too. He says THAT ONE WHO IS HEARING ME ,IS I THE ONE WHICH WE CALL CONCIOUSNESS OR REALITY. This statement is FALSE,A STEP BEFORE THE TRUE STATE ,many remain caught up here. The I THE Presence who is hearing is NOT THE TRUTH,NOT THE REALITY,not that we call CONSCIOUSNESS but only an IMAGE of Reality in MIND STUFF THE SOURCE FROM WHICH THIS I OR PRESENCE OR HEARER RISES AND SETS IN IS THE TRUTH, THE TRUE I,OR PRESENCE.present I OR hearer is just the EGO ,or dream I. O nly way to know TRUE I IS TO BE IT. THAT I ABSORBS THE TRUE DEVOTED SEEKER INTO ITSELF. which we call enlightenment,old person just dissolves,vanishes. SW.SHARAD SARASWATI INDIA.
@FrancisLucille Жыл бұрын
Perhaps you have a different definition of consciousness, which I define as the reality which is hearing or, in this case, the reality which is seeing and reading these words right now. The reality of perceiving is beyond any doubts, unlike the things we perceive which could be illusory. You seem to be saying that there is another reality, in which case there are two realities, the one perceiving the words, and the other one, the Truth, God, This is Dvaita, duality. Advaita, Nonduality is the experience that these two realities are one. This is moksha, liberation.
