Frank is so adorable - I just want to hug him and cover his gentle head with kisses. What a living doll. He sure loves his grooming sessions with the v. cleaner - doesn't he? I love Frank - he rules!

I had 3 Bassetts in the past. My last one, Pebbles LOVED to be vacuumed. She would follow me through the house until I stopped and attended to her. This guy is the same color as my Pebbles. Bassetts RULE

It's a beautiful thing, isn't it?!....that's why bassets are and forever will be the best breed...reminds me of my babies who went to Rainbow Bridge....

Oh my goodness! Bassets and their "quirky" personalities! We have two female Bassets (half sisters). Mia is the typical Basset...love her naps and her snacks, but she also loves her walks. Livvy, on the other hand, is our "spaz"...she loves her red LED light and will chase that thing until she is exhausted, she takes her favorite rope toy and races up and down the hall with it, is the most vocal dog when it comes to telling me all about her dinner, and will nibble at the side of my jeans or my T-shirt when she wants affection. These dogs absolutely are one in a million when it comes to personality.

Sidney, my late English Bulldog, would never let me vacuum the house unless he was vacuumed first. I now have two Cocker Spaniels and they hate the vac.

I used to have a cat that loved being vacuumed so much that he would lie down on the floor in front of me, I had to do him before I could finish the floor. My other cat would hide.

I'd vacuum mine if he would hold still!

We have six bassets and none of them lke to be vacuumed.

We are picking up our Basset puppy Ludvig 10 days from now - its just torture to watch these vids when all you want to do is to pick up your own puppy.

@notawahoo We use a furminator. Have to lift her onto a table though or she disappears :) Basset books mentioned "Relatively low shedding", Ha.

it was a pain to try to vacuum with my flash in the house, he would come running to be cleaned and wouldn't let you stop doing it

Oh please will you get real......vacuuming a dog is a very practical thing to do as long as the dog is not afraid of the vacuum....we used to do that to a dog I had and he loved it and it kept us from making a big mess with a brush because all the loose hair got sucked into the vacuum

Frank is beautiful and I know you love him with all of your heart so please take some advice from someone who has just lost a beautiful Basset Hound our Sadie from heart disease, have the doctor listen to his heart and make sure you get him checked every year o'k and know this that once you go on medicine it's the fast tract to death, we lost our girl two months after diagnosis. They have no other treatment for heart disease in dogs but two med's. weight loss is another sign.

Basset Hounds are wonderful.

Get real.....as long as the dog is okay with it why wouldn't a person vacuum their dog? It is a much cleaner way of grooming the animal than using a brush
