On this day in 1964 {June 28th} Frank Sinatra performed "My Kind of Town" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... The song was featured in the Frank Sinatra/Bing Crosby movie "Robin and the 7 Hoods"; the film's world premier was four days earlier on June 24th... It was nominated for an Acadeny Award for 'Best Original Song' {the winner was Mary Poppins' "Chim Chim Cher-ee"}... R.I.P. Mr. Sinatra {1915 - 1998}, Mr. Crosby {1903 - 1977} and Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...

Frank, I have a problem. When you sing I understand every single word but when you speak... Remember when you've been at Maracanã Stadium I was there aplauding you and I remember you have made a miracle. You have made the Rain stopping falling.

Sorry Frank, I don't like this arrangement by Nelson Riddle...I LOVE it. The intro kicks butt!
@JasonG1468 ай бұрын
It's actually a Billy Byers arrangement. At the time it was a few months old and he got that mixed up, due to still using the Riddle arrangement on some nights.

I think that's a young Harry Connick, Jr., and sitting behind him is Freddy Fender.
@MartaPereiraB5 жыл бұрын
@@williamdunphy352 Harry Connick, Jr. was 7 years old in that moment, so he's not. But his face is so, so familiar to me that it is also driving me crazy to try to find out who he is. I thought he could be Erik Estrada but no, I have searched the internet for his pictures in those days and no, he is not.
