FRANKEN CAMERA: Instax mini + Konirapid S

Hello everyone! Today I want to show you another project I'm working to.
Tired of all the limitations with the Instax cameras? Why don't install a new and fully manual lens on it? I did it and this is the first field test! I still have something to work on, but the result is great and this DIY modification is really easy to do!

These "Frankenstax" cameras show off how much Fujifilm Instax film is capable of with first class lenses, better shutters, and manual control. (It is also a head scratching mystery as to why Fujifilm tolerates such subpar "Press Here Dummy" results from their P&S cameras.)

This is a older video, but i love this and wish fuji or polaroid would just give people a nicer lens with these cameras. Maybe some kind of special addition

I just wired the motor to the switch then batteries, so you just hold the button till the photo is down coming out.

Very interesting setup! But i have 1 question, how can you tell if the shot is in focus or not? Since the original is auto focus and this is obviously manual. Does it show up on the viewfinder?

I used focusing distance on the lens. When building it using a glass I determine the distance the lens is on focus and then write it on the lens. I have a video where I explain it

Which Nikon F to M42 Adapter did you use? Can't find that on net.

It’s a not branded one. The canon to m42 is ok too

you can wire cable then u only click then button, one film would come out.no need switch

Cool video, I didn't think that this was possible! The black border is weir because the lens seems bigger. Do you know why it does that with the bigger lens?

Thanks for comment ^^ the black border I’m now working to remove it. I think is due the lens range wider than the original one. Please keep following to see if any positive progress

I solved the issue and removed the black frame around! It works perfectly now
