So, I got bored, and I googled, "DayZ Morgan Freeman" the first result was the channel of the guy who played Morgan in the video. I loved his impression of Morgan and his playstyle, and immediately subbed. After watching his entire Morgan Freeman in DayZ series, I came here to see if it was the same guy, and it was, and the first comment I see is my own from a year ago, which was, "This is literally the worst Morgan Freeman impression I have ever heard, I could do better than that." I deleted it out of regret. Damn, I was an unfunny asshole back in the day, wasn't I?

You don't apply defibrillators to people whose heart has _stopped_ per se, you apply it to folks whose heart is in ventricular fibrillation, which means that it's _still contracting,_ but it's moving like a bowl of jello would if you shook it in your hand. The point of a defibrillator is to shock the heart so that it's _contraction rhythm_ *changes back to the normal pattern it is in when pumping blood.* If someone's heart has _actually stopped,_ you have to pump their heart _for them_ using CPR techniques =)

Well, you shoot someone in the head with a .357 magnum at that range, a defib isn't going to bring him back.

Defibrillators don't restart a heart. As a lifeguard I was trained with them. The AEDs check the heart rhythm and when it starts to go into arrest, which is it picks up irregular heart rhythms, it puts some volts into the person across the heart to basically try to restart the heart on a regular rhythm. It doesn't start stopped hearts though.

A defibrillator cannot re-start a stopped heart. What it does is it applies a shock to actually stop the heart when it's in atrial fibrillation. The heart can then re-start ITSELF, but in the proper pattern of contractions. Or so the person rendering medical care hopes.

For what its worth, when you use a Defib the persons heart is in venticular fibrilation, so its still beating just erratically. A defib wont actually work on a person who's heart has completely stopped.

When someone get defibrillated, they aren't actually dead, their heart is "fibrillating", meaning it is spasming. Being hit with the electricity from the defibs just stop it from spasming and allow it to go back to normal beating.

A defibrillator doesn't work if the heart has completely stopped moving. It only works if the muscles in the heart are still working, but not intact. Thats called "chamber-shivering". What a defib does is: it sets the shivering heart to zero, the electric shock makes the muscles relaxed completely, so the heart can start pumping in it's regular tact again. The heart massage is their to either bring it back to normal tact without a defib, or to make the shivering longer, so you can get a defibrillator before it stops moving. Didn't you pay attention in the first sid course!? :0

I'm pretty sure someone else has already said this, but a defibrillator is not for starting a heart that's stopped. It's for acute treatment of ventricular fibrillation which is when the heart is getting all spazzy. Basically it forces your heart to get back into a good rhytm. (That's at least the explanation I was given) So yea. It's pretty realistic that you can't revive dead people - who got shot in the head with a magnum - with a defibrillator.

Frankie, if possible I have a challenge for you. Node by the Rocketjump crew have been playing bandits in a Dayz standalone server. If you could check their channel they've openly shot players who've surrendered and simply playing as bandits. They've even posted a video showing their exploits by putting a bounty on their own heads through Twitter and killing bambies who come wondering into Electro; their killzone. It's basically all just part of the game and in good spirits really. But you're known for taking on bandits in Dayz and thought you might want to take a crack at it. Take down Node, and maybe even put them down a peg or two.
