The fear is the virus's self defense mechanism, since rabies is transmitted via saliva the virus manipulates you CNS to cause intense panic when presented with liquids and a very sore throat, since swallowing and drinking fluids would reduce your total reserve of saliva. However hydrophobia only presents in about 80% of all cases, with the other 20% suffering from partial paralysis, muscle weakness, and experience no sore throat or hydrophobia.

No Zeds I'm Arma3 epoch or overpoch. It's got these armless things instead that blow when near a player. Every time a player dies a new one spawns randomly on the map. Dogs now act as your zed agro cause when a dog sees a player it follows it and barks. So if you see a dog more than likely a player near by.

You kind of can. But you might experience some lag. Put shadows and motion blur on highest and make sure your audio is mono and only on your right ear. No sound in the left. Also, you'll need to modify your controller to have no analog sticks, pros play with the d pad and aim with x, triangle, square, and circle.

People with rabies often have violent throat spasms which leaves them afraid to swallow liquids because of the pain. Which is also why animals foam at the mouth (they won't swallow saliva)

***** Arma 3 (or any of their other games) only use one core, regardless of how many you have. My laptop runs arma 3 at 1080p on high/ultra at about 25 fps. The cpu uses basically 100% of one core and 5-10 of the others, the gpu (980m) doesn't get enough strain to come out of power saving mode, and stays under 900mhz(out of 1261mhz), and only about 25% usage, about the same as watching a twitch broadcast. Some settings get moved from the gpu to the cpu as you decrease them. Its a good idea in theory, but because the game is so terribly optimized and is cpu dependant, it just puts more stress on the cpu, which is already maxed out.

+RAI DEN You have literally 0 idea what goes into making a mod or a game in it's entirety. Standalone is being completely rebuilt from the ground up including a new rendering system. The rendering system used in Arma 3 is from 2001 so yeah its kinda easy to mod it. Standalone already wipes the floor with arma 3 in many ways, and when it's done it will look much better and function much better than any mod in existence currently. Cheers for your input though..

Frankie to answer your friends question in the beginning. According to the survival video I watched, on of the debilitating affects of rabies is that the throught starts to swell, and it becomes more and more painful to swallow until you basically die. Humans, being mammals instinctively swallow when we look at water. Therefor since water means swallowing, and swallowing means pain, often people infected with rabies develop a fear of water, also known as hydrophobia. This was on a survival show because rabies is one of the few diseases that can infect just about any living mammal, dogs, cats, raccoon, humans, fox's, rats, and even though a case has never been documented it is theorized that whales, and dolphins could be potential carriers. If a disease like this was ever to mutate in such a way to become an upper respiratory infection, and transmit through airborne means, the infection rate would be obscene, and with the increased aggression of carriers, it would undoubtedly be a near apocalyptic event, in which case, one of the few defenses that could be used to keep infected humans and animals away, is water.

Nah it's because the virus spreads through saliva and thus produces a lot more of it to increase the chance of spread. When a patient tries to drink water or swallow saliva they are caused immense pain, hence the fear.

Frankie, could you do a step-by-step tutorial on how to get the mods and everything for Overpoch Chernarus? I see a lot of guides that give really vague tips, with most involving some Arma 3 Launcher. I know the Launcher is a simple method and all that and I may be a noob for not using it, but I'm not much of a hardcore Arma 3 player and all I really want is to check out the Wasteland/Epoch on Chernarus.

Use a fucking lanucher than. They recommend the launcher cause it does everything for you-.- Just downloads CCG own launcher and it will download the Overpoch and epoch and chernarus for you. Also wasteland is not a mod, its just a server file, you dont need to download something

strigon11 Launchers are good if you don't know what you are doing, but it sometimes messes up your folders for ARMA. What I find better is just to manually install the files, and put them in your steam folders for ARMA then using the ARMA launcher set mod pre-sets so you don't get multiples of the same file which can often overwrite each other if you play lots of ARMA mods.

Nate Caney DayZ has been in the making for over 2 years, and a mod of a game that came out the after DayZ is better. Bohemia is being outclassed by modders.

John MeepFace That is impossible, when everything you see is a Bohemia content. I am modder also and I am thankfull for Bohemia outlook on modding, its like no other modern game. DayZ would never existed if Bohemia didn't do such a good job and has such a huge community A company can make a bad judgment call. In my oppinion they should of made SA with arma 3 engine, arma 3 attachment system and vehicles. Everything would be much more simple. If modders make a progress in something it could be applied on Dayz SA... this way... they choose to do everything from scratch... dunno why.... it takes ages

That's...that's usually when turbulence IS worst. Highly dependent on wind gust of course.

Whiskiz Yo For helicopters, yes. If there are any obstacles so that air doesn't blow away from the heli freely, the wake turbulence (from its rotor blades) can make stable hovering difficult.

yeah that doesnt apply here, whether those mechanics are even in the game or not, there wasnt any obstacles around either way, and pretty sure the rough winds of very high altitude is alot worse than kickback from heli's rotors near the grounds and obstacles so on top its not "the worst" height for turbulence.

Whiskiz Yo You have a point about these mechanics probably not existing in game. But I did read some interwebz and helicopter people say that high altitude turbulence practically doesn't apply to helicopters since they fly too low. Don't forget that turbulence is not the same as wind. Bottom line he was probably joking (because he wasn't able to keep it steady, the amateur) based on what's possible IRL, especially given that it was near that golf ball lol.
