Battle of Tours, also called Battle of Poitiers, (October 732), victory won by Charles Martel, the de facto ruler of the Frankish kingdoms, over Muslim invaders from Spain. The battlefield cannot be exactly located, but it was fought somewhere between Tours and Poitiers, in what is now west-central France.

@@louispauly3824 Oui bien sûr mais j'ai vu qu'elle s'appelait comme cela en français aussi avant. De plus, le lieu exact n'est pas connu et il est peu probable que ce soit vers Poitiers apparemment avec les marais environnants peu propices au combat. Enfin, ce serait Poitiers de nos jours pour oublier l'affront d'une plus récente défaite française cinglante face au prince noir pendant la guerre de cent ans. Je crois donc que c'est plutôt Tours que Poitiers dorénavant.

For future videos regarding historical battles, you should do the Battle of the Sabis (57 B.C.E.), the Battle of Silva Litana (216 B.C.E.), and the Battle of Artaxata (68 B.C.E.) for Rome II, and the Siege of Milan (452 C.E.), the Battle of Cartagena (461 C.E.), and the Battle of Vicus Helena (448 C.E.) for Attila. In regards to non-historical battles, you should do Carthage vs. Royal Scythia, Ardiaei vs. Massilia, and Kush vs. Pergamon for Rome II, and Vandals vs. Picts, Anteans vs. Langobards, and Aksum vs. Sassanid Empire for Attila. The Muslims came back 6 years later led by the son of Al-Rahman and conquered several Frankish cities in the south. Charles Martel came back to the battefield and drove the large Muslim force back and trapped them in a swamp at the Battle Of The River Berre and annihilated them.

Video doesn't have enough narration to explain the manuevers. First you see the initial clash of interlocked combatants, only to later pull back to a new set of combants looking as if they're hundreds of yards apart in an entirely new engagement, rather than supporting the original troops. Everything seems completely disjointed, with no cohesion or explanation of who is doing what, but just a lot of random images of fighting solely for filler content.

Odo's move was critical. Actually he won the battle, But loses are just fairy tale. Both Umayyad and Franks loses were almost equal. Cuz Umayyad did retreated in well ordered formations. If it was totally lose, then it would have been another story and there would have been no need for reconquista 😂. Cuz after such lose, Iberia would have been defense less. That's all.

Same Francs went to fight the Crusades. Crusaders hold the record of Most Humiliating Military Defeat in human history. No other army ever lost 11 successive big wars vs same opponent as the Crusaders lost 2nd to 12th Crusades. This record will hold till the end of time. It was the Muslims Army who defeated (though initially subdued) and terminated the Mongols - Battle of Ain Jalut in 1260 and onward. Mongols became Muslims.
