Where was Eleanor as in 1940 at the 1944 convention to again help Wallace keep the Vice Presidency. History would have been different. I presume that as a scientist, he would have not dropped the bomb, but would have invaded with the Russians. Although Roosevelt personally liked Wallace, the left-leaning VP had been very naïve in his views and actions toward Stalin and the Soviet Union and became somewhat of a security risk. Faced with that and coupled with FDR's frail health, the convention actively sought a replacement VP, knowing that person would likely ascend to the Presidency.

You could not have been more wrong, FDR prolonged the depression and got the US in a second recession in 1937. Also ww2 did not fix the economy in terms of living standards.
