I’m a long time fan of The Rolling Stones. This is my first time listening to Franz Rhythm. Over the past 60 years, the Stones have had a reputation for being a blues based, rock ‘n’roll band. Occasionally, though, they drift over to the mellower side. If you hear them do “As Tears Go By,” what you’ll hear is a melancholy song about a guy who is clearly miserable about something. There is actually a string section on it, kind of like what you’d hear in certain Beatles songs, like “Yesterday.” Franz Rhythm do an interesting different arrangement of “As Tears Go By,” rocking it up to a point where it sounds more like the harder hitting stuff that The Stones are better known for, like “Honky Tonk Women.” I like when musicians come up with their own arrangements of cover versions. This one definitely worked for me.
